A Day at the Races

Friday, June 8th, 2007

Last weekend the family & I decided to have a day at the races ( Horse Racing). So we packed a picnic lunch & headed off. On the way in at the entrance gate I was stopped by security and my bags checked for alcohol and anything else your not allowed to take on to the course. I did pass Go , though the security man told me you are not really even allowed to bring any food or picnic food to the races. Talk about keep a family away for the day and you know what, they are always screaming for the family’s to come to the races. If you can’t take a picnic, what hope has the normal every day family got of attending as they can not afford the inflated cost/prices for the food and beverage’s they charge. Maybe have to have an early lunch then go, or better still stay home and watch it on TV and have a BBQ and a few drinks, get a jumping castle put up for the kid’s and you would still have change, now I am getting excited, but what a day you would have!

Anyway the track is only ten minutes from where we live in the car or a twenty minute walk. Once there or not quite there looking for a car park wow it was packed so I decided to do the nice thing and drop everyone off at the entrance & I go look for a car park, it wasn’t to long before I had found one.

Whilst walking back to the race’s entrance I thought maybe we should have walked as for how far away I had to park. It was not that bad only a few minutes plus those little legs of the children or our legs I should say would have been worn out as I could see us carrying them as well as the picnic bag.

Also I forgot to mention what else happened on the way in. I was greeted by a young lady handing out free race books which was the nice part on getting in, I could not help but notice the sunglasses she was wearing, so big and with the huge name on the side that said Dior, that was ok but as I moved through the crowd to find and meet with my family I could not help but see lots of young lady’s wearing these Dior sunny’s.

I thought this race day must have been sponsored by the people who make these sunnys, but it was not. I found the family and the reason the races had so many people there was because of all the free things on offer. Ah the family day and no they weren’t free, the sunny’s.

This was a huge family day for everyone to enjoy with free kids rides of all sorts with lots of different activities for the little ones & for the little bit older ones & also for the parents with the other events going on like the horse races , the fashion which reminds me of those sunglasses. Girls for what it’s worth your getting too stero-type too many of you are wearing the same sunny’s as well as the same type of other things as in the clothes department. I thought the 80’s were bad, there running a close 2nd pardon the pun. I’m sure there must of been a sale on those Dior sunglasses. Anyway enough about the sunny’s & the girls fashion.

We went onto have a fantastic fun day at the races that really didn’t cost us to much hence why there were so many people which was also great , the more the merrier as they say & of course a lot were.

Try it some time. A Day at the Races and don’t forget your picnic .

I’m married with 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy.

I enjoy social events, people, parties, sporting events and just loving life in general and of course the family side of things being able to stay at home with the family and work around them.

Horse Racing System Advice

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

So how do you decide on the best horse racing system for you? A good place to start judging any horse racing system is to experiment with it for a few races to see if it works consistently over time. You don’t have to place live bets to do this. Start by using the horse racing system in question to figure out bets you can place on paper. Keep track of the results you get.

After the horse racing system has helped you pick a few winners, you may be tempted to jump in with live wagers right away. Most people would think it would be a good idea to place a live bet at this point. But I disagree for this reason: Even though the horse racing system is delivering some winners, sooner or later, the horse racing system will begin to show a downward trend of success. This is actually a good thing. As the downward trend continues, keep wagers on paper for a few more bets, THEN make some live wagers. What you are aiming for is to hit the up-cycle of success that the horse racing system will deliver.

Almost every horse racing system has an up-and-down cycle of success versus failure. Tuning into this natural cycle of a particular horse racing system is wise and—if you time it correctly—it can be very profitable. This type of horse racing system is based on strong mathematical probabilities which means you are not using some superstitious, non-scientific horse racing system.

A good horse racing system is based on sound mathematical and scientific principles that have been proven over time. If you find a horse racing system that has a consistently high rate of success over time, you are much better off pursuing that horse racing system instead of some less tested method.

One horse racing system product that has proven to deliver good horse racing information is Mohammed Ali’s How to ‘Place Bet’ on Favorites for a Living. This particular horse racing system seems to have proven it can deliver real racing results. In fact, Mr. Ali and some of his customers claim a success rate of 89.52% for picking first-place winners with his horse racing system and an extraordinary 96.35% at picking second-place winners with his horse racing system.

I personally haven’t used the system long enough yet to give you an accurate percentage of my success with this particular horse racing system, but the high popularity of this horse racing system does say something for its efficacy.

Horse Racing System Evaluation

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

Finding a good horse racing system is the Holy Grail of wagering for both casual and serious punters. Almost everyone has his/her own type of horse racing system. You have probably heard of some different types of horse racing systems that people have proffered over the years. Some are quite zaney and some are based on sound understanding of several factors that can affect the outcome of any given horse race. Here are some of the things to consider when evaluating any horse racing system you may be considering:

Does the horse racing system take into consideration the number of horses running in the race? Races that have a lot of entries are more difficult to choose which horses will do well. The number of entries in a race greatly affects every horses’ chance of winning the race. Of course, some horses do better in larger fields than others. A good horse racing system should allow you to make allowances for the number of entries in the horse race.

Weather is another factor that can greatly impact the outcome of a horse race. Just like people, some horses do better on a wet and muddy track than others. You should make allowances for track conditions when deciding on which horses to bet on when using any horse racing system.

How recently a horse has run is another consideration when using your horse racing system. A good rule of thumb is ideally the horse should have raced within the last 4 weeks or 28 days. Not too much racing but not too little either is good for a horse to maintain good form during the racing season. A horse’s form is a factor in how well he will do in a race. When using a horse racing system, the horses’ form should be part of the equation for determining the best bet.

Probably the simplest and best horse racing system is to bet on only the top favorites. When you bet on favorites you’ve got the odds working in your favor. In other words, there is a greater probability one of the top favorites will win the race. Any horse with a 3/1 or less in the betting is a good pick. If your horse racing system works with favorites, it is probably going to be a horse racing system that you can use to make some good money.

What To Say To Get Your Girlfriend Back

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

If you found yourself in the position, where your girlfriend left you, don’t sit around complaining about unfairness of this life. This is not going to change anything. You have to take a conscious action to win back the person that you love.

Now, start by analyzing why did your girlfriend breakup with you in a first place. The most common variant is that you pushed her away by hurting her feelings or mistreating her. Eventually she said that she is tired of it and can’t take it any more. You have to face the consequences of your actions. Don’t try to reason with her by promising that “This will never happen again”. It just doesn’t work that way. People can’t change overnight (at least no one believes it to be true). Do not insist or beg her to give you a second chance. It will only irritate the person that you want to win back.

The real question is, “What to say to get your girlfriend back?” Start with the sincere apology. For example, you can say something like, “I am really sorry for… I understand why you wanted to break up and I respect your decision”. Under no circumstances start arguing with her or trying to explain and find an excuse for your actions. Do not try to pressure her into forgiving you, by calling her every day and declaring your love. Give your ex girlfriend about a week to calm down.

After some time had passed call her and ask her to meet you to discuss everything. Make a reservation at a very nice and cozy restaurant and tell her that she looks stunning as soon as you see her. Imply that deep down you still have feeling for one another and if she would end this relationship now, both of you will be left miserable. Flatter her by saying that you were lucky to meet such an interesting and amazing person. She is simply one of the kind and you wouldn’t be able to find another girl like her in a billion years.

Praise her, make her feel special and wanted, tell her things that you love about her the most. Just remember to be sincere. Don’t tell your girlfriend what you think she would like to hear even if it is not true. She will immediately sense it and all of your efforts will go to waste.

As a final argument, say that there is no doubt in your mind that if you would only work together, you could save this relationship and create some more beautiful and unforgettable memories.

You have to remember, that it is a lot easier to end the relationship than to put it back together. It takes time and hard work. Be prepared to compromise and spend more time with your girlfriend, doing things that she likes.

Horse Racing Systems Where You Win Every Single Time?

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

Some Horse racing systems, claims that you can use some kind of magic software and win every single time, and of course that’s not true. The fact is that over 95% of all people that do Horse betting lose. So if it was so easy to win by using magic software, that number had definitely been different.

On the other hand, there are also some powerful and serious Horse racing systems on the market today. The truth is that, if you follow a proven system, that shows you how to analyse charts, past performances, workout times, and the conditions of the track; you have definitely improved your chances of winning. The key is like everything else in life, to have some set of rules, and also a proven system that you can follow. For example, you need to know:

1. Which Horses you should focus on

2. Which racing to focus on

3. What prices to lay etc.

The truth is that a powerful Horse racing system, takes a lot of the talent and guess work, and throws it right out the window. However, one thing to remember is that, regardless how good your Horse racing system is, you can still loose your entire bank, so you should never risk more then you can afford to loose.

Some people do Horse betting with money that they have borrowed and they even put their house at risk, and I don’t think I need to explain here, why you shouldn’t do that. One good rule to follow is that, as your bank increases, to take out the initial investment, and only continue to play with the winning money. Another good tip is that you have some kind of “Staking Plan”.

One way to do that is that you have a so called “50 point betting bank”. So if you for example have a “Horse Betting Bank” of $2000, then just divide that number with 50, which is $40. Then you have 50 points at $40. So for each selection you simply lay 1 point which is $40.

Professional Horse betting gamblers make consistent profits, because they follow proven Horse racing systems, and they always stick to the rules. By following a proven system, it’s possible to make an easy tax free income working from home.

However, like most other things in life, you need to spend the necessary time so that you understand the basics. There are many different Horse racing systems on the market today, but most of them, don’t deliver what they promise.

A Tribute to Barbaro

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

Good Morning. A somewhat somber Tuesday the day after the news that a fine racing legend was euthanized and will no longer be-able to fight to regain his once legendary stature. Barbaro the 132nd Kentucky Derby winner was put down Monday the 29th of January 8 months after his injury which happened after a few strides in the 2006 Preakness Stakes. The crushing of his back leg in the early moments of that race virtually took a hero to many and crumbled him to the ground on which he played and ran circles around other horses before.

Barbaro will not soon nor ever be forgotten in the race halls of many thoroughbred stables. Nor will he to the thousands who followed his career as a fine race horse who wanted to win so bad that he ran on guts more then many will ever know. A quote by one sports writer mentioned “The guts carry the feet, not the feet the guts.” Barbaro’s guts carried his feet to victory after victory. But it carried his heart a lot farther. Each sport has their hall of fame, a tribute to those who once played the game, shared the agony of defeat or the joy and heart pounding thrill of victory. Barbaro’s wins were that of a gallant competitor who won with pride but never belittle his opponent. Many sports heroes could not claim that stature.

Edgar Prado Barbaro’s main Jockey and co-winner of the 132nd Kentucky Derby and 5 other stakes races in 2006 will surely miss his partner. Unlike the Hollywood movie sets and films that make believe, and conjure up winners out of imaginations ran wild. Barbaro did not come back from a surely career if not life ending injury as did the Horse in Dreamer with Dakota Fanning. Barbaro’s fight may be over but spirit will run on. Many who watched as I did in amazement will look for his predecessor to take the reigns and become the next new legend, but Barbaro will live on in race heaven. And race he will against many immortals that he himself followed in. It’s sad yes, but Barbaro will no longer suffer in that ICU stall. He is scheduled to race again in horse heaven and against such legends as Secretariat, Seattle Slew and Citation. Those horses are legends as well as he himself became. He will be missed but not forgotten. Great race horses don’t really die they race on in our minds. Race on Barbaro….

The funny thing about Horse Racing is it’s not about the money to me. It’s about those 30 seconds, that one minute and that two minutes dash to the finish line. Each race is different and no two alike. Some may have the same winner and some may have the same loser. You may bet a lot or as little as one dollar but the price of admission does not tell the whole story these fine athletes endure to become legends. Not all who race become a legend. It takes heart, determination and the unwillingness to give more then one has. Barbaro did just that.

Yes I love the race but, I love what happens in that track at that time and nothing more. If you have never seen a race up close and personal by being at one of the many great tracks around the world. Do yourself a favor and get right down to track level, view the horses up close…there is no bigger thrill to see 6 to 12 thoroughbreds prior to race spout off and show one another and their jockeys who is the best.

Sea Biscuit was one of those who over came a huge injury and the movie tells of the good part of horse racing and the bitter part as well. See not everyone thinks of these animals as magnificent. Most think of them as a ride. That creature grazing in the fields or that thing the runs in circles in may and draws crowds from all over. One look into an eye of a thoroughbred and you will know… They do not just graze…

Have a wonderful Tuesday and my hat is off to Barbaro.. race on gallant champ race on…

Who Wants A Good Lasik Doctor?

Monday, September 11th, 2006

Lasik is a surgical operation that is getting more and more popular. Even though lasik is an operation with a high success rate, there should be no doubt in your mind that you should be getting a good lasik doctor at all cost. You must realize that this is a serious procedure as any mistake made by the doctor may cost you your eyes and ultimately your life!

How To Find A Good Lasik Doctor?

Since it is so important to find a good lasik doctor, you must keep your eyes and ears peeled. One of the best way to find a good lasik doctor is to find out from people who has done lasik before. Ask your family and friends. Who else better than your family or friends who had done the procedure and can tell you where they went for the surgery and whether is the center good? This first-hand account by someone you know will definitely be more truthful and accurate compared to research done by yourself.

Of course, if you do not know anyone who had lasik procedure done before, the next best thing is to do your research by using the internet as your resource tool. You can easily locate thousands of lasik centers and doctors from all over the world with a click of a button. Besides, you can easily find reviews of centers and doctor by people who had their lasik done before in lasik related forums. However, you must be careful about any information that you can find online especially those in the forums. Always check with authority sites to make sure the information given is true and accurate.

In general, a good lasik doctor must have performed at least 500 lasik surgeries before and has a high success rate. Of course, the more lasik surgeries he has done before, the better. Besides, you have to double check to make sure the doctor and the center he belongs to, is fully qualified and legit. If possible, call up the center to find out more about the number of operations they have performed and the success rate. This way you can find out for yourself how the customer service is like. Then arrange an appointment to consult with the doctor.

Here are some basic questions that you can ask:
1. How long have they been doing lasik surgeries?
2. How many lasik surgeries has the doctor done?
3. What type machines the center are using for the surgeries?
4. What happen if the surgery is not successful?

Make sure that the lasik doctor explain the entire lasik procedure to you and also perform all the necessary tests to ensure that you are a suitable candidate. If the center just tells you that you can go for the surgery without any tests, run away quick! The result can be disastrous for someone who is not suitable to go for lasik.

If the lasik doctor can fulfill the above criteria, he or she is probably a good lasik doctor. However, the ultimate decision will boil down to how comfortable you are with this doctor.

Lesley’s Guide To Lasik blog, is a website that shares articles, resources as well as her personal lasik surgery experience. Learn about what lasik surgery is about, what are the possible complications, after surgery care and more.

Horse Racing System - Do They Work

Friday, June 30th, 2006

Horse racing is the sport of kings and dates back thousands of years. So do horse race betting systems that try to predict which horse will win the race. Betting systems are to numerous to mention them all, it seems that every horse race enthusiast has his or her on horse racing system.

A good horse racing system takes into account lot different criteria. Some of these include analysis of the horses form. Horse racing systems are often based on financial systems such as hedging (that is where one bets on multiple outcomes in a single race) and arbitrage (lay the horse a low price and back it at a high price). Some horse racing systems will even includes things such as; horse name, jockey form, trainer form, and lane draw in their strategy.

Another problem with any given horse racing system, is the variety of different forms of horse races. Horse racing differs from country to country. In North America the most common types of horse racing occurs on flat surface tracks of dirt or grass and generally are raced by thoroughbreds. In England, we can find horse racing includes National Hunt racing and flat racing. With all the different forms of horse racing, there have been many different horse racing systems developed.

Choosing a horse racing system that will work best is highly individual. Each person will have their on requirements and betting habits. So you must look closely at each system you consider, and decide if you will be able to follow its’ recommendations. However, finding that system can give you consistent results, and quite probably a large amount of money in the process.

One of the best systems I have come across was developed by a gentleman by the name of Mohammed Ali, he has made a consistent profit using this horse racing system for the past 13 years. What is even more amazing is that the people whom have bought his book are from all around the world, and have also had great success.

February’s UK Horse Racing

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2006

February is the calm before the storm. In racing terms this is the month when trainers put the finishing touches to their Cheltenham preparations and punters try and gather in as many clues as possible about the events that will unfold at the Cheltenham Festival in the following month.

Sandown opens proceedings with a high-class card on February 3. The pick of several revealing races is sure to be the Scilly Isles Novices’ Chase. This grade one contest over two miles and three furlongs has been won in the past by such greats as Best Mate and the winner is always worth following.

Henrietta Knight, Best Mate’s trainer, has also won this race in recent seasons with El Vaquero in 2005 and whatever horse she sends out here will be of interest. Northern trainer Keith Reveley has his eyes on the prize with his Feltham winner Ungaro and watch out too for an entry for Charlie Egerton’s Mr Pointment, who should relish this trip and track.
Providing the ground isn’t riding unduly heavy at the Esher track, punters should be able to watch Detroit City complete his build-up to a crack at the Champion Hurdle by contesting the Agfa Hurdle. Defeat will be out of the question and backers will be looking to the ToteScoop6 Sandown Handicap Hurdle for a more rewarding wager. This is a good race for fancied horses and every one of the last ten winners has figured in the first four in the market. Watch out for runners from the Nicky Henderson and Philip Hobbs stables. This powerful pair boasts the best of recent records.

February 10 is a red letter day for Cheltenham Festival aspirations and the roads around Newbury racecourse seem sure to be jammed with eager punters looking for confirmation or otherwise of their Festival betting plans while over in Dublin the scheduling of the Ireland and France rubgy union game on Sunday 11 means that the top-class day of Irish Cheltenham trials at Leopardstown has been temporarily moved to February 10.
Trainer Paul Nicholls is using the Newbury fixture to finalize his Cheltenham plans and all eyes will be upon Kauto Star as he embarks upon his last race before the Gold Cup in the Aon Chase. As long as he manages to avoid any jumping errors, he should win this easily and more competitive Cheltenham interest will focus upon the Game Spirit Chase, the traditional stepping stone to Queen Mother Champion Chase success.

This year’s renewal could well be right out of the top drawer with Voy Por Ustedes, the current Queen Mother favourite, likely to go head to head with old adversary Foreman as well as Well Chief, Sporazene and Ashley Brook. If the former makes a racecourse appearance after a two year absence then real spice will be added to the Game Spirit mix.

The big betting race on February 10 is the marvellous Totesport Gold Trophy, which is without doubt one of the best handicap hurdles staged during the season. Class will always be the determining factor in digging out a Gold Trophy winner and two trainers in particular – Nicky Henderson and Martin Pipe – have dominated this race in recent years winning a remarkable six of the last ten runnings.

Backers should ignore this pairs’ runners at their peril. Nicky Henderson’s number one representative is sure to be Tarlac, who is a few pounds better off for his defeat at the hands of David Pipe’s Acambo in the Ladbroke Hurdle at Ascot before Christmas. Both horses hold terrific Gold Trophy claims and if the ground is at least good then Acambo is taken to confirm Ascot form with Tarlac.
In the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Leopardstown on the same day Robert Alner’s mud-loving The Listener will attempt to confirm his stunning Lexus Chase victory over course and distance with Beef Or Salmon but the pair might be outpointed by In Compliance who goes on trial for the Gold Cup after rising swiftly through the ranks this season for Michael O’Brien. He is a horse going places fast.

Over at Haydock on February 17 there’s a thorough test of stamina in the Red Vodka Handicap Chase that is staged over an utterly demanding three and a half miles at the Lancashire course. Lightning may well strike twice because Ossmoses, last year’s easy winner, has again been aimed at the prize en route to a crack at the Grand National in April. He should be hard to beat and could have most to fear from recent course winner Kilbeggan Blade, who has also been aimed at this race for some time.
February 17 also sees Ascot stage the Reynoldstown Novices’ Chase and favourites have dominated this event in recent years. Henrietta Knight’s useful stayer Aztec Warrior could be one for the spoils while in the graded Ascot Chase, Monet’s Garden and Racing Demon will bid to put their seasons back on course after flops last time. A terrific day’s racing is completed by the Singer & Friedlander Chase at Uttoxeter and the Kingwell Hurdle over at Wincanton while at Fontwell Park on February 18, Lucy Wadham’s tough stayer United can land the graded National Spirit Hurdle at the Sussex course.

February’s action concludes with Kempton’s Racing Post Chase on February 24 and Henry Daly’s smart stayer Alderburn looks an ideal sort for this valuable prize. He should be high enough in the weights to make an impact while any runners from the Philip Hobbs and Francois Doumen stables should also be noted. The latter has landed this race twice in the past decade and saddled a stunning one-two twelve months ago.

Elsewhere on the Kempton card there’s a Triumph Hurdle trial in the guise of the Adonis Juvenile Hurdle which is the main aim of Alan King’s Pouvoir while over at Newcastle the north-east course hosts the marathon Totesport Eider Handicap Chase where stout stayers such as King Killone, Kinburn and Kitski should be noted among the entries.

Horse Racing Systems For The Weekend Punter

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

Opportunities to profit from betting on horse racing arise almost every day of the week. But I know many of you with work commitments don’t have time to bet during the week. If its not the lack-of-time factor, perhaps you don’t have access to betting facilities whilst at work. Well, help is at hand because here are 10 mini horse racing systems that are perfect for the Saturday betting fan.

1. Focus on just one race course at any one time. It’s so tempting with additional international meetings being screened in this country, but unless you want to blow your bank in half an hour, stick to one venue. A good idea is to concentrate on the course staging the richest race of the day.

2. Find a horse that was the favorite or short-priced (3-1 or less) in its last outing, but today is priced over 10-1 in the same level of race race or below. This method can return some big outsiders.

3. Back any horse whose last run was at the same course as today. The trainer obviously sent the horse to this track for a reason, and is trying again. This method will give you a few good horses to follow.

4. Check for horses that finished within 2 lengths of the winner in their last race, but finished out of the frame. You will often find good value here because the horse finished close, but will be offered at higher odds next time out because it didn’t place.

5. Avoid horses that won at long-odds last time out, but today are likely to be sent off as race favourite or at short odds (3/1 or less). I’m afraid you’ve missed the boat already, so don’t try swimming after it! Look instead for a horse with a low tissue-price (3-1 or less) and is going to post over 3-1 odds. Don’t be afraid to go against the market. An experienced odds-compiler has obviously considered this horse worthy of low odds, and a drifting price can often signal good value.

6. Look out for horses that are proven winners at either the track or distance (marked ‘C’ and/or ‘D’). Alternatively, dutch the top 3 money-earners at either the track or distance.

7. If a horse is a warm favourite due to a considerable drop in class (2 levels or more), look out for another horse that is doing the exact same thing only being offered at higher odds - the first horse is likely a “talking horse” and pushing the prices of other horses out to the point where we can get good value.

8. Be aware of horses that have placed, that is finished first, second or third in their last four starts in the current season.

9. Have a goal in mind. If before racing you say to yourself, I’d like to win 50 quid today, then that is a goal. Equally you can set yourself a limit — I only want to lose 50 quid today — that’s a goal too. Its uncanny but it often seems that if you make up your mind to achieve something, then you will! So set yourself a positive goal rather than a negative one!

10. Be aware of the magic of ‘threes’. Whenever a horse is doing something for a third time, it can be a lucrative signal. 3rd time wearing blinkers, 3rd race back from a lay off, 3rd race in a new class - for whatever reason the number 3 seems to be a horse racing ‘wonder’ number.

Try some of these methods this coming Saturday, and see how often you collect from the bookies.
