Soul

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Her undernourished soul gave up and died.
Years of neglect had finally killed it.
It had been ten years,
Ten of years of hurt,
Her heart had died many years ago
It needed warmth, needed to be loved
None of that here,
Withered and dried,
Here lays her soul, lost its soul mate.
Never recovered, longed to be happy,
Warm and loved.
None of that here.
Trapped, suffocating, desperate to escape.
The sentence looming,
A noose tightening
Becoming aware,
The noose no longer around her neck
But a gold ring around her finger.
Marry in haste
Repent at leisure
Regret at leisure
Marry to regret
The one you wanted
The one that left
The one who was so right
And now feels so wrong.
Too scared to look, too scared not too
Happy ever after? Or fresh heartbreak?
Years of waiting the time was now.
But the grip was loosening,
Falling, further and further.
Out of reach
A wave of hope picks it back up and once again saves it from heartbreak.
The eyes are the window to the soul
Hard to see how.
Too many tears shed, now red and puffy.
Dark shadows underneath adding to the misery.

Eyes too bloodshot to find her soul.
Too many crows feet caused by laughter or tears?
Looking harder, deeper inside her body.
Eyes desperately searching.
Missing, gone, ripped out by heartless fingers.
Once looked at in lust, now In disgust.
Weren’t we once happy? Lived life to the full.
Now we don’t speak, just snatches of words.
Look again, nothing there any more.
The sun rises and the dawn chorus begins.

Poetic Tender Riffs (Three Poems) “Angel….” & “Flyover” & “Rosa’s Newspaper”

Poetic Tender Riffs

Here are a few poems I wrote today, in the process of writing them, I wanted to give them all one common name, because it all came out in one long afternoon chain of thoughts (so I named them: “Tender Riffs”), as I sat under the sun, my coffee in hand, and eggs and steak nearby, at my favorite outdoor restaurant, in Lima, and the waitress (Sarah, brought my food, said “Mr. Siluk…” meaning stop whatever you are doing and let me put your food on the plate, that is what she was thinking, not saying, and what I was reading, eyes tell a lot. Her hands patiently hoping I’ll finish my stanza quick so she doesn’t have to hold the tray much longer. I have to always finish the sentence you know, or the stanza. My wife, Rosa, is under the big yellow umbrella, I sit under the sun—she likes the shade. Then after I eat, finish eating that is, back I go again to see if …whatever is needed gets it (2-18-2007):

1)Angel or White Shadow (Surr’el)

My guardian Angel—
I’ve named you—Surr’el
I hope you don’t mind

I’ve never heard your voice
But I’ve seen you—
At least one time.

I’m the one you’ve protected
For so many years,
You stood, beside my bed once…

(when I was dying, almost gone…
and I got a glimpse of you—
tall and white and broad:)

You are my white shadow
Who I wish to meet someday,
I have thought of you often…!

2)Flyover

An F16 Jet, flew over our heads
(on my way to the café, today))
Several times, like a Roaring lion))
The earth moaned under my feet,
As I walked the neighborhood,
Lima, streets…folks were outside
Sitting, watching, listening…numb,
Women, with hands over their mouths,
Absorbing the terrifying sound…!
After the flyover (a military air show I hear),
The jet now out of sight, I look back at the
Two women, still they remain in fright…
And the others, speechless…!

3) Rosa’s Newspaper

She tucks the newspaper—tightly

against itself,
Taps it on the table, to insure one section
Is even with the others—as if she’s going
To give it a rest (and drink her coke,
Perhaps talk); then she—Rosa, my wife,
Opens it a second time, and reads it
Again (not sure what the tucking
And the tapping was for) but now she

Adjusts her eyes to the small print,
With her new glasses—‘Guess’ (squints)
And grips it as if the wind may move it
(what wind, I ask…myself); She’s firm

in her posture,
Glances onto the next page (doesn’t notice,
I notice her)) I think…?). I ask,

“Anything interesting?”

“No,” she comments, and then adds:

“There is a man in Pakistan he blew

himself up….”
She glances at me now (as I write

this down (stoned faced) unaware;
Then she shifts her eyes back to the paper

and continues to read again….

Waiting for Autumn (A Poem on Minnesota)

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

Waiting for Autumn

I was born in Autumn, and will perhaps die in Autumn

(Born in autumn I say, born in autumn, autumn

in Minnesota; thus, come forth with me,

O autumn—a peasant’s fondness, the hour is near).

Why do I long for you ((autumn)), become lost in your leaves?

I can see the rain on your roses, O thou inexorable time

Who passes the soul, the soundless soul—like snow?

I love your shadows bony thin, as the winds gather appearance,

It is autumn of the next year, and I stand alone—waiting

I love thee! I weep; embrace her, her chilled face,

Her sweet breath, known only to the air, crystal at the mouth.

She has a veil, mystery goddess, hast thou seen me!

Promise’s to come again she does, with her thine eyes

but I understand, you must leave for paradise!

To return in another year; yet my unhappy soul, drifts into

a darker world—Thou lovest me? But cannot stay!

With fringing flames, ye are fled! Holy whispers die, fade

Yet murmurs to my heart remain, I did not wish it!

but they remain,–ah! Far beyond these hours! She

Remains captive for a time, time and circumstance, will

I see you again?

Perhaps, if doom does not become my destiny! —come

forth with me, our far adventure waits…!

Should I not somewhat slay thee? If I could I would, then

you hath not me, or need of me to wait for thee!

It little matters which way I go, I drowest in gratification

That I have met you with a peaceful heart.

I was born in Autumn, for autumn, and will perhaps

die in Autumn;

Sorrow or joy, it little matters which comes, as long as

Autumn remains, her fiery-colored wings, to laugh

With me, as we hear the trumpets of God in the wind.

IED - Improvised Explosive Device

Sunday, July 1st, 2007

IED - Improvised Explosive Device
A cunning way to push vice
Meddle in international affairs
Stir up trouble and get in others hair
The Bush administration does it well
Ironically playing the neerdowell
By no means is Iran’s President swell
Ahmadinejad wants to annihilate Israel
Both he, many Muslims, and the devil
Perhaps America should come to level
The Iranian dictator and usher in democracy
Make the younger generation free and happy
Nevertheless there is a unique art to diplomacy
To ensure and secure long-term relations
Peace is an intangible commodity not easy
To obtain, mediate, neither negotiate
The enemy always wants to aggravate
Deviate, denigrate, alienate, and isolate
Timing is also crucial, lest we be too late
However moving prematurely can insatiate
The enemy’s ego and ravenous appetite
To start World War III and a furious fight
Thus we must navigate through this right
Involve and interact with nations nearby
Give it a go, bite our tongue, and try
To engage leaders in the Middle East
Stabilize borders, insurgents, and find peace
Bring to the oppressed liberty and release
While wisely welcoming and maneuvering

Fighting evildoers and nation building
Resist being self-righteous and idolizing
Our culture, concepts, and body politic
Stop, halt, harness, say no, and forego
Pushing on militarily like a mercenary
Guerilla warfare for making money
Regime changing for oil procuring
The Saudi royal family we protect
The price of oil we can’t neglect
Nor can we worship and be glued to it
IEDs are far more than military weaponry
Ideological economic devices rhetorically
Surface instinctually and harm us globally
Alienating friends for us internationally
These IEDs we must question incessantly
As without Iran, Iraq remains in instability
Let us not demonize influential Iran unnecessarily
This strategic enemy must be won with diplomacy
Because many Iranians agree with us ideologically.
Therefore let us deal with Iran’s president individually
On another front we can address its people collectively.

Eternal Love

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Robert Browning’s “Porphyria’s Lover” and Helen Adams’ “I Love My Love,” share a common subject: eternal and inescapable love. In each poem, the fated love remains even after death. These deaths both occur when the woman is strangled with her own hair by her lover.

“I Love My Love” told in the third-person point of view, is about a man and a woman who fall in love and get married. The man, however, tries to escape from the controlling love of his wife by strangling her with her own hair and burying her in the ground. Her hair comes to life and wreaks revenge by killing him so he cannot escape her eternal love.

“Porphyria’s Lover” is also a poem about eternal love but is told in the first-person point of view. The love in this poem is between the speaker and his lover, Porphyria. When the speaker realized that Porphyria worships him, he kills her so that they can remain in that moment forever and so that their love will never die.

Both poems have a definite rhyme scheme and use imagery to emphasize the eternal love between the lovers. Also, the poems are near the same length and the murder in each occurs relatively in the middle of the poem. Both poems place emphasis on the hair of the woman. “I Love My Love” mentions “golden stands” and “Porphyria’s Lover” repeats “yellow hair” several times. This may be a type of hubris, as a woman’s hair is often a symbol of her pride. In these poems, the women’s hair leads to her death, although there is more emphasis on the dooming and tormenting hair in “I Love My Love.”

In her poem, Helen Adams uses repetition and colorful imagery to express the feelings between the lovers as well as in describing the woman. The repetition of the “I love my love . . .” line emphasizes the obsessive and controlling feelings that the woman has for her lover, as well as the repetition of the 4th line of almost every stanza that is repeated at the end of the same stanza. Also, the repetition of the same verbs in one stanza emphasizes the action taking place. For example, in stanza 5, the verbs “dug,” “strangled,” and “buried” are each used twice, emphasizing the actions of the murder.

Adams uses effective imagery to describe the physical attributes of the woman and her hair. The woman repeatedly combs her hair with a “golden comb” and traps her husband with “gold bonds.” Her hair is described as “devilish” and compared to a “dazzling storm” and a “golden monster.” She is presented as a “sorceress” shackling her lover, keeping him in “bonds of gold” which he cannot escape, and laughing at his attempts to escape her love. Her hair has a voice which torments him while he is running from her.

Browning uses images of nature to set the tone of his poem. The poem begins with rain and “sullen wind,” with Porphyria coming to him out of the storm, symbolizing the hope the speaker sees in her amidst the stormy world around him. The speaker’s emotions are revealed through his actions, as is distant from his lover when he thinks that she does not truly love him. Then when he realizes that she does truly love him, he strangles her to keep her with him, loving him, eternally. Unlike the woman in “I Love My Love,” Porphyria is apparently happy this way, and even wanted her life to end this way, as the speaker says, “The Smiling rosy little head,/ So glad it has its utmost will,” implying that Porphyria is not only happy with his action but wanted him to kill her. This becomes even more apparent in the line “Her darling one wish would be heard.” This creates an eerie tone in the poem as the reader wonders what the intentions of the lovers were before the murder.

“I Love My Love” and “Porphyria’s Lover” share the same theme but seem to have separate and different tones. The tone of “I Love My Love” seems to be one of desperation and entrapment, revealing the inescapable aspect of love. “Porphyria’s Lover,” however, presents a tone of eerie happiness and contentment of the inescapable aspect of love.

Is This The Best Natural Cellulite Treatment Going?

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

Do you have cellulite?

Are you tired waking up each morning and seeing that dimpled orange peel look terrorizing your legs, bum and belly?

So what is this dreaded curse that causes you so much embarrassment and makes you cover up when you hit the beach?

Simply put cellulite is caused by little fat pockets just under the skin. It’s these fatty deposits that pushes against the connective tissues beneath your skin and causes the unsightly dimpling. But as we know getting rid of cellulite is anything but simple!

Let’s take a look at some natural cellulite remedies and then what some people are calling the best cellulite treatment cream on the market.

Water

Water is natures great cleanser. By increasing your water consumption you will help the body flush out the toxins and create stronger connective tissue, which can have limited success in reducing the visual impact of cellulite.

Massage

Lymphatic massage completed by a specialist helps stimulate the body’s lymphatic system and has been cited as having a very positive effects on problem skin, improving the appearance of problems areas such as cellulite as well as reducing puffy or bloated looking skin caused by water retention.

Exercise

Exercise is a great way of keeping fit and reducing the build up of cellulite. By strategically targeting parts of your body with certain types of toning and cardiovascular exercise you can reduce the appearance of cellulite. However, exercise will not totally eliminate cellulite and some people simply do not like to exercise!

Is This The The Best Cellulite Treatment? - Natural Lotions

If you have tried or don’t like the idea exercise and diet and don’t want to take the risks and suffer the costs of surgery then a natural cellulite remedy lotion may be just what you’re looking for. But beware, many cellulite cream products advertised to remove cellulite are little more than skin moisturizers without any ingredients that actively combat cellulite.

So what are these natural ingredients and how can they benefit you?

Green tea extracts to increase the rate at which your fat is broken down to form smooth tissue. It is claimed that Japanese women have such little cellulite because they consume so much green tea!

Caffiene! Your favorite drink is now also proven to have great benefits for cellulite. However drinking more coffee will not give you the results you will see with using cellulite removal cream, for the simple reason that the caffeine will never actually reach the fat cells that cause cellulite. Cellulite remover cream contains a highly concentrated form of caffeine to actively tackle problematic cellulite tissues.

Retinol A. This is a compound that is a derivative of Vitamin A and it targets your skin and connective tissues directly to condition and strengthen. Retinol A rejuvenates your skin, and will decrease your cellulite while preventing it from becoming worse over time.

I have only seen all these ingredients in a very few products and only one Cellulite cream that works on several tissue levels; Retinol A works on your outer and inner skin layers to rejuvenate the cells and connective tissue. Then the caffeine and algae extracts penetrate deep into your fatty tissues to break up the fat and smooth out your fat-storing cells to remove the appearance of cellulite.

If you don’t see a significant decrease in your cellulite within three months of using cellulite cream, or If your friends do not start giving you compliments and ask what your secret is, or if you are not completely satisfied, then the cream you are using doesn’t work.

So if you want quick great results without the pain of surgery and effort of exercise a great cellulite cream could be just what you need to kiss your cellulite goodbye.

Don’t let cellulite terrorize you – In just a few short weeks you could be wearing those sexy dresses and skirts you used to wear, without ever feeling self conscious again!

The Love Poem

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

It is very easy to tell someone that you love him or her.

The words I love you are very short and simple to say

But there is another side to the words I love you

A side that is not so short and simple

It is through one’s action

Moreover, when you love someone those actions should appear naturally

You should not have to wonder how the right way to love someone is

There is no right or wrong way

Loving someone comes within

It shows through the person’s eyes, their tough

The magic of love is when two people love each other

Those two are bond together as one

Moreover, when those two share intimate emotions in the heat of passion

Their souls (the spirit within the soul) endure together as one

Two bodies within the same mind body and soul

For as long as eternity ruled by God will let them share their love

A love that will be with us forever

So when I say I love you its not three simple words

It is what my heart feels and my actions show

It is a special commitment

A commitment shared from the moment we said, I do

A New Beginning

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

There comes a time when the meaning of life begins to make sense,

At first it may not,

The sky at first may look dark,

The path one needs to walk down may be hard to see,

Never let a disorder control one’s destiny,

life created will not move forward,

cannot be positive, fulfilling future,

If you let it control your mind, body and soul,

At this point, one cannot give up,

A disorder cannot control,

You control your disorder,

Accept yourself,

Accept your disorder,

Love yourself now and forever,

You were thrown against a corner when you developed epilepsy,

Getting up was not an option,

Now it is,

Today is a new day,

If you stay down life will pass you by,

So help yourself get up,

fight the battle and win,

To win the battle you do not have to stop having seizures,

Winning the battle is teaching you how to live a healthy productive life,

Helping you cope,

Life may not always become what you want them to be,

The road you lead may have some u-turns involved,

Do not fear,

For change can be good,

Follow your path that was laid out for you,

The sun is now shinning,

You can now see your path

There is a plan, a destiny that awaits you,

Do not question your destiny,

Do not ask questions such as “why me?”

Accept the path that has been laid in front of you.

Do not be afraid,

Take one day at a time,

Be proud of who you are,

Walk with courage and your head up high,

Believe in yourself,

Focus on the positive,

For the footsteps embedded in ground of your new path will become the solid foundation to you future.

Flower Fully for Me

Sunday, March 25th, 2007

Every woman loves flowers
But not every woman
Flourishes, nor flowers fully
Of thee I ask, flower for me
Though I sometimes be
As bashful as a peony
Carefree with levity
As the larkspur unsure
Of its purpose and direction
Nevertheless my desire
Is passionate and persistent
As the snapdragon is resilient
Though I be youthful
As the lilac is zestful
Know my thoughts are pure
Like the sunflower
That does amazingly endure
Intense heat and elements
Affliction leads only to effervescence
For undoubtedly I’m awakened
In your manifold presence
Therefore show your love lively
Like a tulip uprightly
Declaring love unashamedly
Blossom majestically
As does an Oriental lily
In spring time with its fragrance
Manifesting enrapturing elegance
Be dear as a freesia in all innocence
That delights with its tender essence
Befriend me like an alstroemeria
Be joyful like the birds of paradise
That are always happy and nice
Provide me welcoming hospitality
Nurturing like a anthurium
Intrigue me like an emporium
Darling sweet pea
My delicate pleasure
Be patient with me
As would an aster
In all its glorious allure
Give me Christ-like fidelity
As does the chrysanthemum
Give me faith and hope
So through life I can cope
My love for you will be sure
Continually open opportunity’s door
Possess character and be courageous
Brave and strong like a gladiolus
Give me admiration
Like does heather
No matter the season or weather
Be consistent and dependable
For the rewards are exponential
My love is beyond comprehensible
Fiery and unquenchable
Believing and indefatigable
Intoxicatingly unbelievable
As the hyacinth most reliable
Yet be sincere and heartfelt
As the hydrangea when smelt
Receive my compliments
Like the praiseworthy iris
Exuding lavish sentiments
When the day has gone and went
Be as the lisianthus outgoing
Your love bubbling and showing
My orchid, cymbidium charming
My most admirable beloved belle
Radiant as the ranunculus
With you all for me is well
As when one gazes at the statice
The thought of you prompts remembrance
Of the most glorious person and pleasure
As the stock’s longevity of beauty
You my timeless princess only get better
The passing of time shall draw us closer
When storms come emotionally
Be ready to under gird me
As I shall also sustain thee
Be spiritual and heavenly
Like the delphinium, hybrid
That endears me with serenity
Be enthusiastic and uplifting
Like the bouvardia ascending
Be my pride and adoration
Like the carnation
That captivates me
Sweetheart unique and splendid
As is the amaryllis
Resurrecting hope near ended
Anticipate my arrival home
Like the eager anemone
My rose of enrapturing love
Full of blessings from above
Surpassing all I dream of
Your every curve luscious
Your gentle speech precious
I your knight shall be chivalrous
As a daffodil divinely designed
To yield in a moment in time
I will be your sanctuary sublime
Like Queen Anne’s lace
Daringly will I seek your face
As the protea, shall I be your king
Bountifully will I provide everything
Triumphantly shall you rejoice and sing
As we celebrate the Creator’s love eternally
Arise, arouse, arrest, and overwhelm me!
Fill my senses as you flower fully.

The Problem With A Wholesale Dropship Business

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

In today’s world there are lots of ways to make money online and one of the most popular ways is to start a wholesale dropship business. In fact there are people who have even been very successful without their own website but just using Ebay to sell wholesale dropship products.

However, one thing that is commonly misunderstood by many people about running a wholesale dropship business is pricing as it refers to the world wholesale. Many people think that just because they are working with a wholesale supplier they will be able to find products they can sell much less than anyone on the planet.

But nothing could be further from the truth. Just think about it.

Do you really think you will be able to get products cheaper than Wal-Mart, Amazon or overstock.com who purchase 1000s of items from wholesales suppliers?

Not exactly, but that does not mean you can not be successful with your own wholesale dropship business. The key is to not focus too heavily on what everyone else is selling for and trying to add value to your product.

There are going to be other business selling the exact same products as you online for a cheaper price, but that does not mean you can not have a successful business selling the same item.

Here are a few tips on counteracting a lower price than yours.

1. Write your description of your product in a more persuasive manner to increase impulse purchases. For instance, if you are selling on ebay write good persuasive description and be very descriptive.

2. Try offering a free bonus with your product. It does not have to cost you anything. For instance, if you are selling plumbing equipment, you could sell you products with a report labeled “Insider Plumbing Secrets, 7 Tips Every Home Owner Should Know About Plumbing.

3. Provide high quality photos of your products in use. Ever herd the quote “A picture is worth a 1000 words”?

4. Provide products comparisons. This not only gives your site more content but also helps your buyer make an education decision all in one location. Prevent your buyer from visiting other websites and you will see your sales in your wholesale dropship business skyrocket.

5. Set up your order process to recommend other products after the person has entered in their credit card information, but just before you close the sale.

For instance, if you are selling cell phones, right before you close the sale recommend some cell phone accessories to your customer. Make sure it is seamless and the customer only has to click one button to add them to the order. Do this and you will see your wholesale dropship business excel.

Overall there are some common misunderstandings about owning a wholesale dropship business, but with the right strategies and focus anyone can succeed.
