Email List Building – Steps to Success

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Email list building is something that can be done with precision, and offer consistent results month after month. It is something that can be done with scientific precision, the only thing you need is to know how to do it, then you need to track everything you do, so that you can make adjustments. Continue to make adjustments until your list is profitable. Follow these steps for maximum success with list building:

1) To email list build, you must determine exactly who you want on your list – you cannot try to get everyone online to signup. For example, if you have a dog-lovers web site, you want to put dog-lovers on your list. Not cat lovers, not the general population, but dog-lovers. So everything you do should be targeted, precisely, towards dog-lovers. The more targeted you are, the more money you can make, because you waste fewer emails.

2) To email list build, you must learn exactly what you want your sales funnel to look like. What do you want your subscribers to do when they get to your list? For me, my niche is list building. I am good at list building, and teach others to list build. So I want my subscribers to opt in to my list and they get a free ecourse or ebook. Then I want them to buy a book from me…and another… and another – so that is how I have my system set up. You must systemize everything you do. That is probably one of my strongest secrets, and I don’t talk about it much.

3) To email list build, you must remain targeted in everything that you do. I know exactly what I want, so I communicate that with my subscribers. I am not afraid of people unsubscribing – remember, I am very targeted. If someone doesn’t like me anymore, I don’t care – they can go somewhere else for content. I deliver excellent value to my subscribers. You must do the same thing. You must deliver excellent value.

Choose to be the very best in your niche. If you are the best, and you know how to list build, you can make huge sums of money – profits – in just about any niche online.

Email List Building for Maximum Profits

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Email list building is the foundation for all the money I make online, and with just a few things done right, can be the foundation for the things you do online as well. The key with email list building is that instead of grabbing new visitors every day, you can send the same people to your web pages daily, and a level of trust is built.

Email list building is one of the easiest online money-makers if you are doing it right, and one of the hardest to do, if you are doing it wrong. You simply have to have a plan and follow that plan.

So what is email list building? Email list building is the building of a list of like-minded individuals online, and communicating with them online. That is pretty much it. Well, that really is the basic idea, but you do need to target them somewhat.

So how do you email list build?

To email list build, follow these steps:

1) Decide on a niche. Do not jump around once you choose one. Just build a list to at least 5000 subscribers before you start on the next one. Your experience level will be much higher, and you will do things better the second time around.

2) Create a squeeze page. A squeeze page is a web landing page that has as its only purpose the opting in of subscribers. No links, no adsense – nothing – just an opt in box.

3) Create a compelling free gift offer. One of my favorites is a free ebook so people can sample my writing style and ability to deliver information to them.

4) Send quality traffic to your squeeze page. I prefer article marketing.

List Building Secrets - Nichefying Your Lists

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

List building can be extremely lucrative or feel like a waste of time. I prefer to make money with my lists, and one of the ways I do that is by nichefying my lists. The reason I do this is so that I can more accurately target the individual needs of my readers.

If you choose to build tightly niched lists from the very beginning, then you would advertise offers that are geared specifically towards dog-lovers, or cat-lovers, etc. This is nichefying your list.

By doing this you are able to much more tightly market your target audience, and the tighter your marketing, the more profitable you will become, because you can offer each reader more closely what they need.

One thing to remember here is that if you have your subscribers opt into a new list, be sure that they are not mailed the same email twice, once for each list. There are several ways to handle this, and it will depend on your auto responder specifications, which varies from company to company.

One way is to have them automatically taken off of the current list they are on, when they opt in to another list of yours. Or, if you still want to send them the general offers too, then set your auto responder so that it automatically filters for duplicate email addresses, and only sends your broadcast emails once to each email address. Either way, as they buy products, move them up your sales funnel.

This concept can also apply to a subscriber who makes a purchase from your list. For example, once someone has purchased a particular product from your list, you want him removed from the list that recommends that particular product, and moved onto a list of proven purchasers. This allows you to sell him more expensive products as time marches on.

List Building for Profits – Why Target Your List?

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

List building is often done with the end purpose of creating long run profits, and one of the things that is critical to doing just that is targeting your list.

As you are building your list, it is important that you target your list. What that means is that if you are selling dog products, for example, that your list is comprised of dog owners, not pet owners in general. And if you sell a wide range of pet products, then you could build several lists, one for dog owners, one for cat owners, one for parrot owners, etc. Now you can do this two ways, and either one is fine.

You can either build a broad list, and then give your subscribers a reason to opt in to a tighter list, or you can build tightly niched lists from the beginning. Or you can use some combination of the two. Either way you end up with tightly targeted niche lists, from which you can create profits.

For example, if you sell all manner of pet supplies, you could run advertising geared towards pet owners in general, and additional advertising geared towards dog owners. With the broader list, you can send out opportunities for each of the specific categories of pet owners to opt in to a tighter list. For example, you might send out to your entire list an offer of a free report that only cat lovers would download, and then have the subscriber opt in to the ‘cat lovers’ list. This allows you to send that subscriber only cat-related offers and not dog and parrot related offers, and you will increase the sales generated per subscriber. The more you target your lists, the more profits each is capable of.

So the bottom line is: Target your niche lists for maximum profits.

List Building - What You Need to Build a List

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

What kind of relevance do you attach to the importance of list building? What kind of message do you feel more comfortable with when you open your email? It’s probably a no brainer you’re going to say one you feel comfortable with and are familiar with the sender. You’re going to open one where someone is sending you useful information. However you’ll be less inclined to open one from an unknown solicitor.

It will be necessary for you to cultivate your own list. This may seem a lot more difficult than using a safelist or buying lists from others. Keep in mind, using these former types of lists can get you in spam trouble. Also, sellers of lists not only sell to you, so if others are buying the same list, how valuable is that?

When you build your own list you are getting names and addresses from visitors who have given them freely. You will feel much more confident sending to those kind of subscribers. They will probably think your material is relevant and informative.

Plan on developing your own list.

So how do you do this? The first thing you’ll want to get is a website. It is not expensive to pay a monthly fee to a web hosting designer. You can find a good one for under $10.00 a month. They usually come with good tutorials and and provide support. Shop around, there are many to choose from. Your first order of business with your website is to have a squeeze page with a web form to collect names and emails for your list.

Next you will want to get an auto responder. This will be a very important item in creating your list. Auto responders have advanced features to make your list building experience much easier. There are a few that are outstanding and have great tutorials.

You will have to write a series of emails to load into your auto responder. Make sure these emails are informative and provide a benefit to your subscriber, You might want to add a gift along the way such as an ebook or ecourse. This will create good will and help keep your list stabilized.

Building your list, will not happen overnight so don’t expect miracles. However the subscribers you do get will become a strong reliable group. They will tend to be more loyal because they will feel more comfortable with you.

It is a good idea to always use the double opt in feature. This is provided with your autoresponder. After the subscriber opts in to your list, he must confirm this act by clicking a link that will verify your being able to send him emails. This is for your protection and greatly cuts down on spam.

Building a credible list over time will provide you with lots of valuable subscribers that will help grow your business rapidly.

List Building Intermediate Techniques

Monday, October 8th, 2007

List building is one of the easiest things you can do online to make a profit, once you know what you are doing. Until then, list building is really difficult.

The nice thing about list building is that you can track your progress – and you can generally be assured that if you do something one way 100 times and get one response, you will get a similar response the next 100 times. That gives you the ability to easily test emails and responses on small numbers of emails.

When you first begin building your list, your goal is NOT to sell anyone anything, simply to build a relationship and build yourself up as an expert in their eyes. You see, no matter how much you know about your niche market, until they get to know you and see that you understand their field better than they do, they do not perceive you as an expert. An email sequence like this helps you do just that. And you want to be perceived as an expert.

Once you have mailed 3-5 emails, you can begin alternating between sending recommendation letters and informative letters. Notice that I say recommendation letters, not sales letters. You see, your goal when sending emails is to get your subscribers to click on the sales page link in the email, not to sell them. The sales page should do the selling, not your email. You should remain the expert, not the salesman, in your emails.

I recommend that you join at least 10 mailing lists yourself and read all the emails. Study them. What do you like about them? Which emails inspire you to click through to the links within and buy something? What characteristics of emails make you want to unsubscribe? Your subscribers will have much of the same response to emails as you do—if you like something you see in an email campaign, imitate it. Note I say imitate. Don’t copy—but imitate. If you see something you don’t like, something that inspires you to unsubscribe, decide you will never do that in your campaign. Your subscribers will appreciate it, and they will reward you with purchases from you and your affiliate products. Learn everything you can about your competition.

List building really can be fun, profitable, and predictable – you just have to make it that way!

Opt In List Building for Profits

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Opt In List Building

Opt In list building is where I spend the bulk of my time online, after article marketing. I use article marketing to drive traffic to my squeeze pages, and then focus on opt in list building to create profits online.

Opt in list building is one of my favorite topics, and it is the one thing I spend the most time on online. Although I write a lot of articles, and I guess that time could be indexed under ‘article writing’, my primary purpose in writing articles is to build my opt in list. I just figure that if I write an article on a topic that interests someone, and they read it and like it, they will opt in to my list. They are really the very best subscribers, because they already like me.

So how do you opt in list build for maximum profits? How do you structure things so that they make you the most amount of money?

Of course, at this point, I am assuming that you already know the basics of opt in list building.

So how do you list build for profit and for long term viability?

1) You must have the end in mind when you do anything online. For me, the end is making money from my subscribers – I offer them exceptional value, and they pay me for it. So even though I send out a ton of free gifts – I am doing it with the purpose of building this incredible relationship, one in which they will eventually spend more money with me. I want my subscribers to see that they get maximum value out of the time they spend opening my emails.

2) You must consistently look for opportunities to make money. When you subscribe to my lists you will see that not only do I deliver excellent value, but I am consistently presenting my readers opportunities to increase their own knowledge online by purchasing information or tools from me. By the way, I make it real easy for people to opt out, or to get a refund if they don’t like something. You have to be balanced in everything you do, while keeping the profit motive at the top of your mind.

Opt in list building really can be the most profitable thing you do online, you just have to make it that way.

Lucrative List Building – It Really Can Be Easy!

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Lucrative list building can be quite easy to do, and be completely different than running a losing campaign that only makes you a few pennies per month per subscriber. Some marketers online are making between 50 cents and 2 dollars per subscriber per month – and you can too!

Lucrative list building – what does it involve? First of all, what is lucrative list building? Lucrative list building is building a list to make money! That is the bottom line.

Some of you might be list building because you want the prestige of having a big list. Maybe you are list building so that you can meet new people online. Maybe you are list building to make money.

I have been list building for the last 4 months for the express purpose of making money – lucrative list building – and 4 months later I am making a fulltime income online.

So how do I do it?

Lucrative list building starts with bringing new subscribers into your list that are willing to spend money. You are not looking for freebie-seekers. To build a lucrative list, you must target people who are willing to spend money. If you are working in the internet marketing niches, you must only target people who are willing to spend money to make money – you are not looking for the person who is looking to get rich quick – you and I both know that doesn’t work.

You have to set things up in such a way that you screen the people that come to your web site, having the people that are interested in learning and are willing to spend money to learn, can be included in your list.

Lucrative List Building - What is Different About Profit Takers?

Monday, October 8th, 2007

List building can be one of the most lucrative things you can do online, and yet many people fail. Why? Why do some people make hundreds of thousands of dollars per month online while others literally fail? Not just, don’t make much money, but FAIL?

I think there are some very specific differences that are evident in the lucrative list builder versus the one who is just playing around:

1) Lucrative list builders are focusing on profits per subscriber, not just how many subscribers they have. This is important – you cannot just go out and buy a bunch of subscribers – you have to build them, and build a relationship with each one.

2) Lucrative list builders look for ways to constantly monetize the list. Once someone signs up for my newsletter, they are immediately offered one of my online books to buy. Why? Because that is a hot moment in my relationship with them – they are looking for more information, or they wouldn’t have requested my newsletter –so it is a great time to offer them a paid product that will give them great information fast. But they are always looking for the opportunity, and taking it when it arises.

3) Lucrative list builders find new products to present to the subscribers that offer exceptional value. One of the things that is important when you are building your list, is that when someone buys something from you, they have to get their money’s worth. If they do, they will buy again. If they are let down, they will not buy again. It is just that simple. To build a lucrative list, you must offer exceptional value. You have to be the very best.

Lucrative list builders think differently – they really try to get into their subscribers’ minds so that they can offer them the best value.

List Building for Modern Times

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

List building has become increasingly more advanced over the past few years, and there are a few things that you absolutely must do if you are going to build a huge, responsive list.

Here are the things you must to do build a responsive list today:

1) You must have a squeeze page. If they will not give you their name and email address, they will not give you their credit card number either, so stop trying to sell your visitors first. Get them on your list via your squeeze page, then develop a relationship with them, then sell them your stuff. You are not looking for web surfers, you want buyers.

2) When they subscribe, send them something free. Not just one thing free. Several things. Free ecourse, free ebook, free video, then another free ebook. Then free information. When it is time to ask them to buy, they do, because they already trust you. And then make sure that what you are selling is worth more than the asking price. They must receive value up front to spend money later.

3) Communicate with your list. Find out what they want to learn more about, and give it to them. Ask questions often, and be sure to answer their questions.

4) Always honor refunds. Period. No questions asked. There are very few people who will buy just to steal and get a refund. If the same person keeps buying and refunding, then take them off your list. By the way, if someone sends me a nasty email, I usually just remove them from my list, I don’t try to convert them. I do not need someone on my list who doesn’t like me anyway. Think they will ever buy any thing from me? No. So I take them off my list.

5) Send them new value constantly. Be the best. Being the best, not great headlines, will get your emails opened. You must be viewed as the one with the best emails around – and then they will open their emails. Many people have 100+ emails in their inbox daily – why should they open yours?
