7 Love and Relationship Tips

Most relationships, even those built on love, start to fade with time. If both partners do nothing to improve the situation after some time they may hit a dead-end. However, there are a few things that can be done to sustain happy and strong relationship.

Here are most important love and relationship tips that you need to know in order to save passion and special bond that you and your beloved share:

1. Make sure to spend some quality time with your partner. Sometimes we get so caught up in insignificant daily worries that love is receded into the background. You have to take a conscious action to prevent that from happening. Find at least one weekend a month so the two of you could be together.

2. Take a conscious action to show your other half that you love him/her. Surprise your partner with unexpected gift. It doesn’t have to be big and expensive. It just has to come from your heart.

3. Show interest in your partner’s life. For example, you can say, “Hi. How was your day?” and listen to the answer attentively. The person that you love should not only see a lover in you, but also a friend to whom he/she can confide his/her worries and problems at any time.

4. Communicating is crucial in any relationships. If you don’t like something about your partner’s actions do not keep it inside, talk to him/her, even if it may result in an argument.

5. When having an argument, never use name-calling or refer to mistakes your beloved one has made in the past. It is not ok to humiliate or ridicule another person, even if he/she has hurt your feelings. This is not going to solve any problems on the contrary it will only make matters worse.

6. Try to find a proper balance, between dependence and independence. By being too independent and cold, you can distance yourself from a person that you love. But at the same time by being too needy or “clingy” you can make him/her feel trapped and irritated. Make sure that your other half knows that you need and love him/her, but don’t overdo it. For example, if you give your girlfriend a bouquet of roses for no reason, she will be very touched and happy. But if you are giving her a rose every single day, eventually she will get used to it and the gesture will lose its meaning.

7. And probably the most important tip – do not expect your partner be a mind reader! Men and women are different. They think differently, they feel differently, they act differently. If you want your special someone to do something for you - ask. Thoughts like, “If he would love me, he would do ….”, “I’m not talking to him until he apologizes for…” (when a guy has no clue of what he did wrong) are destructive and pointless.

Green Cleaning Safety

Time and again you hear on the radio of a tragic death that occurred due to caustic materials that are found in cleaning agents. Children get into cleaning cabinets regardless of child locks and supervision. Just one look the wrong way and a child could feasibly ingest an item that could harm if not fatally wound him/her.

A product that is organically created for cleaning does not come with that drawback. When I was little, “Mr. Yuck” stickers were all the rage. I believe the schools gave the stickers to our parents in a campaign to stop accidental ingestion of toxic chemicals. In fact, I vaguely remember learning to associate toxic, which meant life threatening, to the “Mr. Yuck” sticker. As far as I know, they no longer do that. However, that does not mean that accidental ingestion doesn’t happen. It still does and can be avoided if those chemicals are no longer in the house.

If a household replaces all the caustic cleaners with organic or “green” cleaning agents, a huge part of this problem gets taken out of the equation. This does not mean giving up the benefits of a truly clean home. It was once believed that everything should be cleaned with bleach since it will kill everything harmful. The problem is, it will kill everything that’s not harmful, also. An organically created product has just as much cleaning power, if not more, than its chemically treated counterparts.

Pets are also a concern when it comes to cleaning products. They spend the majority of their time close to the floor. They often lick things from the floor. In fact, I remember hearing a rumor (this is not confirmed so don’t quote me) that the agents in the convenient upright mops that come with several pads and cleaning agent attached are harmful to animals that walk over them when the floor is still wet. If this does end up being the truth, what effect might it have on an infant that crawls on that same floor? Some people view their pets as their children. Is it really worth it to risk children to an unknown?

It is best, as much as you have control over, to be sure that the products that you will use to clean your home will be safe. A surface appearance of clean is not enough. If you want your home to appear clean, it should be equally important to you that your home is actually clean. In doing so, you want to be sure that the products you’re using to achieve this clean are healthy for you and everyone around you. Since there are products on the market that are healthy, safe, and effective, it is a wise decision to invest in these products.

A Day of Awareness

Dear Loved Ones,

Let us call today, A day of awareness.

What do I mean by this?

Let us today become more aware of our selves and our surroundings. Do you ever wake up in the morning, look outside your window and take a good look at the beauty all around you. See what you see, feel what you feel, hear what you hear, sense what you sense and know what you know.

The intention here is to look and pay attention to your surroundings from the perception of the NOW. Here in the NOW as we focus on the truth of the beauty all around us, this is what we will notice. Things are not as bad as they seem to be.

How about taking a good look at ourselves today? One may think this is so ridiculous, I have so many more important things to do today than to look at myself. Yes, I agree we all have very important things we must do today. I ask you this, Are all of these things more important than you, your health and wellbeing?

When we take a good look at ourselves in the NOW, we are aware of the goodness within us, NOT the illusion that we perceive about ourselves.

Yes, we make mistakes.
Yes, we have challenges.
Yes, we have responsibilities.
Yes, we feel tired.
Yes, we want to quit, sometimes.

However, the truth of us is we are good. Knowing this will give us strength to move forward in life. Recognizing the essence of our true self . Let us take it easy on our selves. Why? Because God takes it easy on us and It is God’s will for us to be good to ourselves, therefore being good to each other.

Remember we are worthy and deserving of having a healthy life in everyway.

May the love and light of God and the Universe surround you, your loved ones and the planet earth.

Is Katrina Cough Real?

“Katrina cough” is believed to be a collection of respiratory illnesses that may be due to exposure to mold, dust, and related allergens resulting from Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Doctors in the New Orleans area began seeing an increase in respiratory complaints by patients in the months following the storm. These patients described a cough, congestion, runny nose, sore throat and headaches. Most patients were treated with antihistamines, nasal sprays, or antibiotics.

Doctors still aren’t sure whether Katrina cough and its symptoms are actually related to the hurricane, and no one knows exactly how many patients have experienced symptoms. The American Lung Association of Louisiana did a study of approximately 1,600 people in the twelve months following Katrina, and about 25% of those screened had reduced lung function in the mild to moderate range.

But the Louisiana Office of Public Health conducted a study of emergency room visits in New Orleans following the hurricane and the study showed no increase in the rate of New Orleans-area respiratory illnesses.

Other health experts say patients’ problems, such as gastroesophageal reflux, could have many different causes which can be made worse by stress. Symptoms of such afflictions can’t be definitively connected to the storm.

In addition, patients with normal seasonal allergies or winter colds may mistakenly blame their symptoms on the hurricane instead of ordinary pollen or common viruses.

Despite the disclaimers, many people claim “Katrina cough” is real.

Anyone coping with what they believe to be Katrina cough can use cough suppressants to stop coughing. However, there can be some dangers in using such cough suppressants, because you want to get irritating particles out of your lungs. A cough suppressant keeps you from coughing, but doesn’t help clear your respiratory system of the particles that are causing the cough in the first place.

A better recommendation might be a two-step approach.

1) use an N95 filter mask to reduce the number of particles inhaled, and

2) wash out the particles from the nose and sinuses with nasal irrigation, which is a process of clearing out your nasal passages with a fluid (usually a saline solution).

For persistent cough, you can try inhaling steam with your tongue out. This process gets warm moist air into your lungs and may help relieve your symptoms. There can be a downside however, because using a steamer in your home can add moisture and encourage the growth of mold. Mold may be the very cause of your cough, so the less mold you have in your environment, the fewer symptoms of Katrina cough you’re likely to experience.

And finally, remember what your grandmother told you: that warm liquids such as hot tea and chicken soup are always good for easing the discomfort of coughs and colds. “Katrina cough” is no different.

Weather it be a walk in the park, reading an inspirational book, meditating inwardly, eating good food, drinking more water to energize and rehydrate, resting, or thinking positive thoughts. Know this to be the truth; God wants us to be happy and healthy.

Celebrate Life

Dear Loved Ones,

On this beautiful day we will celebrate life. Celebrating life is actually very easy to do. Once we recognize the fact that we are life, how easy is it to feel good about ourselves. Where does this concept come from? This concept comes from within. This concept comes from the truth. It in fact comes from the source. All of life is the Source, therefore knowing we are one with it, we are life.

Let us take a moment to analyze what it means to be one with the source.

The source is infinite energy.
The source is everlasting.
The source is eternal.

The truth of our being is the light, all inclusive of infinite energy, everlasting and eternal.
We are simply one with it all. All is life and we are life.

So therefore let us dedicate today to celebrate our lives. How can we do this? You are all very wise beings. You have the answer within you. Take a moment to ask yourself this question. How can I celebrate my life today?
The first answer that pops into your head is usually your true self talking to you. If it feels good and raises your energy level, then you want to move forward with this guidance. Go for it, and include others in celebrating your life.

Why not be a source of creating oneness in your celebration?

Celebrate life, for you are life!

Weight Loss Tips - If You’ve Ever Asked Yourself Why Am I So Fat?

If you have ever asked yourself the question above, and don’t really know the answer or where to look for the answer, you may have stumbled upon a solution to changing your body shape.

However, if you have simply wondered “Why am I so Fat?” and have come up with an answer like: “Because of my parents / my environment/ my neighborhood / my family /my race /my husband/ my childhood…..”, then, let me tell you this: You have found, not the answer to your problem, but an excuse, an excuse that will continue to support you in keeping you overweight for the rest of your life.

Now if that’s what you want (to continue to be overweight or out-of-shape or definitely not the best you can be, both physically and mentally), then, the excuse you have found will serve you well.

If, on the other hand, you really want to change your shape and lose weight, you will need to find the Real Reason that you are overweight and why you simply cannot make a move to change your body shape. And then, you will need to tackle the deep-down reason you are getting bigger, and eliminate it.

So, the Short Answer to your question: “Why am I so Fat?” is this: your internal programming, the way you think and react, is making you fat.

The Longer Answer to your Question (“Why am I so Fat?”) is this: You may have heard that the human mind is made up of the conscious and subconscious, “parts” of what we call our mind. (Most people know this; few really know how to work with or upon this knowledge.)

The major portion of the time, it is the unconscious or subconscious parts of your mind that runs the whole show that you call Your Life. Most of our decisions may be made for us by our unconscious minds, and the rest of our body simply acts upon those decisions.

A common example is that of driving a car: You get into the car, and after a long and boring journey, you arrive at your destination, and you remember hardly anything about what you really did on that journey. What really happened was that your unconscious mind worked everything out, and got you to your destination, and all you can consciously remember are one or two turns or lane-changes in the entire journey!

You may also have seen this happen with regard to food: The food may be laid out before you, and your unconscious mind (who’s on a “see-food” diet) simply gets at the food, consuming and absorbing all the calories it can lay hands on, in the shortest time possible. In the meantime, your conscious mind (the person you call “You”) has taken a short holiday, only to enter the scene when the food is gone. That’s when remorse sets in, when you feel bad about having eaten all that food. But it’s too late, at least with regard to that meal.

What does this mean to you with regard to your losing weight and more importantly, to keeping it off, is that you must take conscious control of your decisions, instead of letting your unconscious mind pre-decide what you do in everything.

And please remember that your unconscious mind is a powerful part of your mind, and does not change as easily as your conscious mind. For example, you may read an article that tells you why being overweight is bad for you, and you may fully agree. What is really happening here, is that your conscious mind is agreeing. However, the real driver, the one who does the long-term actions for you, your unconscious mind, is still convinced that the way you were going before reading the article (i.e., not worrying about your weight, or changing your diet or the amount of exercise you do) is still the way to go. So, if you want to change your shape, long-term, you need to get your unconscious mind working for you, instead of against you, as it is currently doing.

Have you come up against the case, where you want to do something, but you just cannot get yourself to do it? This is a clear example where your conscious mind and unconscious minds are working against each other. On the other hand, you may have found the case where you can really easily (and consistently, long-term) work at something. In this case, your unconscious mind is in line with what your conscious mind wants, and your unconscious mind is working to power you forward towards what you want.

To get your unconscious mind on your side with regard to changing your body-shape, you need a System, because systems simply work.

Today let us focus on the energy of rest. What does it mean to us?

Some may even work so hard day after day without any rest that this insight may seem ridiculous. Well, What is coming to me to bring forth to you from my universal consciousness is this:
May you rest in peace
Uh, Oh! Did you think this means after death? No! May you rest in peace while you are still alive. May you rest your beautiful bodies. This motor that takes us from place to place. Helps and supports us in achieving our daily tasks.

May you rest your magnificent minds in your own private place. How wonderful it is to know that we can rest our minds when we choose to. Give it a break from everyday thoughts and concerns. Peace of mind and clarity will take us along way in achieving our goals.
May you rest you soul.
This soul is blessed with the light of God. Rest it, as if you would take care of it, like you would take care of a new born baby. Take care of it with gentleness, with gratitude, with care, with love, with joy and so on.

Why Rest? Because, to renew, rejuvenate, and to feel the wholeness within. Then feel healthy, great, strong, peaceful, energized and complete. Remember, you always have choice. How will you choose to live. We are all worthy and deserving of a healthy and happy life in everyway.

Oh The Anxiety And The Insomnia Of It

Many of us have experienced times in our life when it was difficult to go to sleep at night. You want to go to sleep, but no matter what you do, it just doesn’t seem to come. There can be many reasons for this occurrence and it usually will go away quickly. Anxiety and insomnia go hand in hand. You can be worried about something one night and sleep well the next. Someone who has insomnia, will experience this difficulty sleeping more than once a week. It will usually happen at least two to three if not more nights a week. Insomnia is classified into two categories and this article will talk about how anxiety and insomnia often go hand in hand, and what can be done about it.

Anxiety and insomnia can be a short lived problem. Maybe you are nervous over something that is coming up and you can’t sleep because of it, but once the event, or test, or whatever it is, is over, you can rest peacefully again. A short lived type of insomnia is known as acute. It usually effects you two to three times a week for a few weeks up to a month or so. Insomnia is no fun no matter how long or short lived it is. No one can function on little sleep for long. It begins effecting how we work or view things. It can effect our emotions as well. One moment we are up and then we are down. Anxiety and insomnia can cause you to cry one moment and laugh the next. The good news is it will soon be over.

Long term insomnia is known as chronic and it can last for a long period of time. Anxiety and insomnia are at a deeper level than from acute insomnia. Your anxiety might be more of a deep fear than from an anticipation or event type. Maybe you lost a loved one and are afraid to go to sleep at night, or maybe you have chronic pain and you are anticipating or experiencing the pain that is to come, or you are already experiencing. Anxiety and insomnia at this level can be treated, but I advise you to seek a physician for help in regards to this type of problem.

There are some simple things you can do to try and overcome anxiety and insomnia. Make sure the bed you are sleeping in is comfortable. You might want to lie on your side and place a pillow between your legs to help you go to sleep. You can also try drinking a warm glass of milk or a warm glass of water with two teaspoons of honey in it to induce sleep. Both of these will trigger a chemical in our body that induces sleep. Try going to bed at the same time each night and waking up at the same time each day to form a routine for your body and make sure you don’t take an afternoon nap.
