3 Things That Will Determine If You Will Succeed In Life Or Not!

Monday, April 30th, 2007

As I always say, success,in this life,is predictable. You will know a person who is headed for success and vice versa.

Now,what are the 3 things that will determine if you succeed in this life or not?

1.Your Mindset

2.Your Attitude

3.Your Relationships

Let me now explain each point to you starting with your mindset. If your mind tells you you cannot succeed in life,I am sorry to say there is nothing that can be done to help you. So,your first point of call,if you want to succeed in this life, is to develop a ‘CAN DO mindset’,a ‘CAN DO mentality’.Take a cue from the several succcess experts that say in their books, speeches, etc:that you can do whatever you set your mind on achieving. It only takes the commitment and discipline to follow through. And remember that famous quote from Henry Ford:”if you think you can,you can,if you think you can’t,you can’t.” Now,how about that for serious thought?

Your attitude also matters if you want to achieve success.Your attitude to these 4 things-work,time,sleep and money matters a lot.

Your attitude to work. Are you the type that is gainfully employed but does not put in enough effort because the business is not yours? Before closing time, you are already at the gate? Or you are just plain lazy and can’t wait for the weekend to come for you to stay at home? Remember this attitude will follow you when you start anything of your own.

Your attitude to time. Are you a time waster or time investor?Do you spend your time doing productive things or unimportant things that don’t contribute in anyway to your bottomline? Are you a social butterfly that must attend every party in town? Have a rethink about how you spend your time from today and don’t forget we’ve just finished a month and moved into another, are you going to sit down and allow the year to slip away without you achieving anything substantial? The ball is in your court.

Your attitude to sleep. Are you the type that believes you must sleep 8 hours a day? You better watch it because that sleep could be a clog in the wheel of your success in life. And for your information,I don’t know any successful person in this life that sleeps for 8 hours a day because while you are sleeping, they are awake, strategizing and thinking of how to push their frontiers further.

Your attitude to money.Do you spend your money or you invest it in shares, stocks, bonds and real estate? The fast food restaurants are your favourite hangouts,no problem but do you know the money you spend there can be invested now for a financially secure future for you and your kids?

Your relationships also matter. What type of people do you move with? Are they idea killers or dream supporters? I have seen people start off businesses and move into financial security all because of their relationships.I am not saying you should turn yourself into a beggar or a leech, just cultivate fruitful relationships, productive relationships and see your success soar beyond your imagination!

Audio Recordings: Musicians Get Your Questions Answered & Learn What You Need To Make Your Own

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Understanding what you need to make your own audio recordings is a lot simpler than it may seem. Figuring out exactly what you need gets confusing because of all the many options available and the source of your information (who’s telling you what you need).

There are a lot of options now, and that’s just part of the technological revolution. Having so many options is actually a good thing, even though, when you’re first starting to learn about recording it may seem overwhelming. The benefit of having so many options is that there’s certainly something out that’s within your budget that can do what you need done in your studio.

What you want to keep in mind is that, there are usually clear distinctions between different pieces of gear that identify what that specific equipment does and will do in your studio. However, sometimes these distinctions loose their clarity when you encounter a specific piece of equipment that does multiple things. Some units function as more than one tool and are something more like a Swiss Army Knife for the studio. Once you learn about and understand each type of equipment, and what it does for you in your studio and why you need it or why you may not need it, when you encounter equipment that’s like a Swiss Army Knife, you won’t be confused. You’ll simply understand that it is a combination of tools.

As for choosing the source of your information, it’s probably more crucial than actually understanding on your own, exactly what gear you need. At times, everyone needs a little direction and input, especially when there are so many options and so many new technologies, so you need to really consider where you will get your information from.

If you choose the wrong source, you will be misled and confused only more. You need to get your information from an unbiased source that doesn’t benefit from having you fall into the trap of thinking you need some certain product. Sales people and magazines are almost always biased sources. Although they can be a good place to get information from, you should realize that they are not necessarily the best authorities nor are they necessarily telling you the whole story.

A lot of sales people barely know what they are talking about, especially when it comes to recording gear. Often times they’re just pushing the item that’s going to earn them the bonus this week or make them the biggest commission. Magazines are really much the same. You’ll almost never see a bad review in a magazine, and that’s because subscribers don’t pay for the magazines, advertisers do.

Magazine writers and editors want to tell you how great product X is. They never mention the downfalls, and never tell you how you could get the same thing for less in another brand’s version or any other alternative that could save you money or get you better results. Magazines can be a great source of information, but you shouldn’t take what they say as the gospel truth.

Magazines and sales people can be a really good source for explaining product features though. As long as they know what they’re talking about, and aren’t just making up what they’re telling you, they can be a good source for learning about the features of equipment and software.

But let’s briefly cover what every studio needs in the most basic, rudimentary way: Every recording studio needs:

1. A way or place to store recorded audio.

2. A way to capture [record] audio Signals.

3. A way to replay and manipulate the stored audio [playback ability].

4. A way to hear the audio when playing back or while capturing it [monitoring].

5. A way to connect one piece of gear to another [connectivity].

As long as you keep these five requirements in mind, building the core of your studio will be simple. From there you only need to decide on exactly what device(s) will serve these five purposes in your studio setup.

Thrush, Yeast Infection and Candida - Home Treatments Explored

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Thrush- In plain English, thrush is a yeast infection of the mouth. It occurs mostly in babies and children, but also adults can get it, if they might already have a serious disease or illness. You know it is thrush usually because of a white bumpy rash in your mouth that comes on quickly, it is painful and can spread to most parts of your mouth and esophagus.

Yeast Infection- In the genital region of men and women, more commonly in women, but can be incurred by either sex, or originated by either sex, it is a common misconception that men only get yeast infections from women.

Both thrush and yeast infections are caused by the Candida yeast fungus overgrowth. Luckily there are many products you already have at home that can help clear up the symptoms.

Apple Cider Vinegar- applied many times a day to the infected area
Tea Tree Oil- applied to infection
Yogurt- applied to infection
Garlic- applied to infection
Oil of Oregano- applied to infection
Drinking buttermilk- two glasses a day (continue after the infection is gone to stave off recurring infection)

*Boric Acid*- Do NOT use boric acid to clear up a yeast infection it can be very dangerous as it is a toxic product.

For thrush it is important to sterilize all bottles, and pacifiers and anything else the baby or child puts in their mouth. For women who breast feed it may be a good idea to pump until the baby’s infection is gone so you do not catch the infection on your breast, this can be very painful and itchy and if it causes you to stop feeding for awhile you can develop clogged milk ducts and then mastitis.

There is one way to cure yeast infections and thrush alike. It is a home remedy and information about it can be found at Home Remedies- Yeast Infection.

Why Dogs Love Clicker Training

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Clicker training is a type of dog training that uses operant training to train your dog to be obedient by using the sound of a click, which becomes known to the dog as a sound that promises a reward. This type of dog training is innovative and a great way to train your dog to obey you on command. A clicker is used to make a clicking sound so when you actually give your dog a reward, he understands that the reward is for being obedient. Both owners and their dogs love this kind of training for a variety of reasons.

They Understand
Other methods of dog training may be difficult for a dog to understand, but once they start to associate the clicker with their actions that gets them a treat, they begin to understand how the system works. Other methods of dog training may be confusing and leave the dog wondering what he did wrong or right. This method leaves no doubt when your dog obeys you like he should and helps to make your dog happily obedient.

Positive Reinforcement
Many other dog training programs use various methods of negative punishments to try to make dogs do what you want, and many times, the dogs do not even understand why they are being punished. Clicker training for dogs uses only positive reinforcement to train the dog the way you want. Negative punishment has no place in this system and dogs learn much faster with the positive reinforcement that is used in the clicker program. Another reason that punishments are not used in this training program is because, many times, dogs may even look at punishment as something good since they are getting your attention. It is much better to make them realize that when they do well, they are rewarded, and soon enough their bad behavior will cease.

Dogs Want to Please
Most dogs love to please their masters, especially when there is a treat at the end of the road for them. This type of dog training takes the pleasing nature of dogs and helps them turn it into obedience, which makes their masters very happy. Dogs begin to realize that when they please their master, not only will they get approval, love, and affection, but they also get a treat as well. The combination makes a powerful training tool.

Signals are Used with Behaviors
Another reasons that dogs do so well with clicker training is because the trainers always make sure that the dog understands the command by using it and showing the dog what is wanted. Only after the dog learns the behavior and the signals that are associated with the wanted behavior do the trainers require the dog to perform the commands on cue. This makes it very easy for dogs to understand exactly what is wanted so they can do it quickly. Once they understand the behavior, then they start having the behavior reinforced by the trainer with the clicks and the treats.

Bad Behaviors Disappear
Not only do dogs learn that good behaviors get rewards, but through lack of positive reinforcement they learn that their bad behaviors are unwanted. If dogs behaving badly, after going through the clicker dog training program they will find out that their bad behavior is not rewarded with a treat. After some time, the dogs will eventually stop the bad behavior because they realize that they are not rewarded for it.

Focus on Relationships
Many dogs love this program because it focuses on the relationship between the dog and the owner, building a bond that is strong and lasting. When their good behavior is reinforced by the owner, the dog feels wonderful for having pleased their master. Dogs and owners have to work together on this kind of training and they are able to spend more time together as well. Dogs learn that they get the attention of their owners when they are obedient and they are on good behavior.

The clicker training program for dogs is a great program for both the dogs and the owners. If you are considering a way to train your dog that will last forever, the clicker program is for you. While obedience school and other dog training programs may wear off, the clicker training program builds a bond and a sense of achievement with a dog that they will never forget. Positive reinforcement is the backbone of this dog training program, and it truly works in a way that dogs love.

Home Recording Is Easier And Better Than Ever With New Technology!

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Is it really that easy to make your own recordings? To make good recording that you could actually sell? The answers to those questions are “yes” and “yes!” But you’ll probably need to keep reading to understand why this is so (or just get my free audio course at the bottom of the page.)

Most modern home recordings are made with computers or workstations and both of these items have really simplified the whole process. They have truly changed the way a studio looks and operates. Instead of requiring ten, fifteen, twenty or more pieces of gear to get the job done, now you only need just a couple. The racks of equipment that would eat up the space of a large room now all exist in a virtual, software environment which quite conveniently fits inside your computer or workstation.

What’s even better is that they all synchronize and connect with each other virtually as well. Making the virtual connections usually only takes a few seconds and requires little knowledge or experience. It’s as easy a pushing a few buttons (or a few mouse clicks as it were).

In the early days of digital audio, the gear was still all hardware based and often required extensive knowledge of connectivity. A lot of the times it even required converting one type of digital audio to another. Almost all of this has been bypassed with modern home recording. And before digital audio all together, it was an absolute nightmare to get the gear all working properly and synchronized. The difficultly of operating a studio back then is where the term engineer came from. You actually had to be an engineer to do the job.

So once you have the gear, what you need most next is an understanding of the basics of sound recording and connections. A lot of people want to over complicate this issue, but it’s actually pretty simple. If you learn the most important principles of sound recording, then you’ll be able to apply them to most any situation with a high degree of success.

Learning the principles is the best way to understanding sound recording because it will allow you to be more creative for artistic sake and more creative when you need to record something unusual (like a new instrument you’ve never recorded before). As a studio owner myself, I rely on the principle to get me by because I’m constantly encountering new recording situations.

As far as connections go, like I said, it’s been massively simplified due to the fact that most of the connections are done in the virtual realm now. What you need to know about connections is easily understood in just a few minutes because it mostly has to do with a few digital connections you might need and a few analog connections dealing with mic cables, guitars cables and similar.

Learning to use your gear is only a matter of experimentation, reading the manuals or using some book or tutorial course to bring you up to speed. Since all the modern recording equipment has been designed to be as close to push-button easy as possible, it’s not difficult to figure out your gear and most of it is pretty intuitive. Generally things are designed to simulate real gear, such as mixing boards and processors. Most musicians have at least a little experience with this stuff so it’s usually immediately obvious how something works.

So what are you waiting for?

Relationship Advice For Valentines Day

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Valentines Day is again once upon us. Many of us have already made plans to spend a romantic evening with our significant other. If you haven’t already made plans, you still have time. Many couples traditionally make plans to go out for a romantic dinner for two, maybe see a movie afterwards. Many choose to stay in the comfort of their own home and spend the night by a crackling fire. Whatever you decide, make sure it’s genuine, romantic, and from the heart.

Women love it when their man takes the time to plan something special for them, especially on Valentines Day. Be sure to tell the special woman in your life, how much you love her. It’s ok to drop the macho act this one particular day out of the year. Pour your soul out to her. Let her know how special she really is to you. How much she means to you, and how lucky you are to have her in your life. Let her know how much of a better man you have become since the two of you have been together.

After you have completely melted her heart with the release of your feelings, it will be time to wine and dine her. Don’t be a tightwad this year, and spend the money on this special occasion. Take her to her favorite restaurant, or cook her favorite meal. Take her to see the chick flick you know she’s been dying to see. Take her shopping at her favorite store. Good lord man, pamper this woman like there is no tomorrow. If you do all of this and can go all night without saying something stupid, then the dividends of your efforts should pay out for months!

Now some free advice for you women. First off, be ready to go at a descent time. Be prepared and start getting ready about one hour before you normally do when you go out. This should ensure that you leave the house on time. This way your man will not be so anxious, and be tempted to say something stupid causing you to snap at him. This is a bad way to start off this special evening. Remember, it’s better to be lovers than to be fighters.

Make sure that your extra sexy for him this evening. Trust me. Your man loves it when you are exceptionally beautiful and confident with him in public. Make sure you maintain both physical and eye contact throughout dinner. Rub his hands from across the table, or if you are setting next to him, rub his thigh to let him know you appreciate the effort he has put forward for you this special day of love.

Let your man know how much you appreciate him. Let him know how thankful you are to have such a real man in your life. Let him know how safe and secure you feel with him. When you get home after a romantic night out on the town, let him know that you had a wonderful time and offer him a backrub for his efforts. He will be putty in your hands after this. Now it’s time to put on that sexy little outfit you bought just for him.

Well I think we all know where these special romantic evening end up from here, provided all went well and we as men were fortunate enough not to say any thing too stupid throughout the evening. I think if we both as partners follow these basic outlines of mutual respect, love, and appreciation, will come to appreciate the fact that we truly are lucky to have such a wonderful person in our lives with whom we can share our secrets and our passions with.

Home Recording In 2007 - What Every Musician Needs To Know For The Current Music Scene

Monday, April 30th, 2007

It’s the late 2000’s and we’re in a technology-driven era. There’s no getting around it and the world we live in is only going to grow more dependent upon technology. For people interested in recording (and this applies to pretty much every musician too), this is a blessing! We now have an amazing amount of power at our fingertips to make recordings more easily, cheaper and quicker than ever before.

There Are 6 Things That Anyone Considering Making Recordings Must Know.

Knowing and understanding these six key points will make a huge difference for everyone interested in recording. If you are a musician, they will help you decide whether or not to record yourself. If someone who’s interested in making recordings, this is the perfect starting point for learning the basics and moving forward.

Here are the six important facts you must know.

1. Because of advancements in technology, making recordings is so easy almost anyone can do it once they understand of a few key ideas and concepts behind the recording process.

2. Creating your own studio to record in is far cheaper than most people are aware. It can even be cheaper than paying for studio time when you know what to buy and how to buy it.

3. Acquiring the proper equipment is simple and does not have to be confusing, when you have a reliable, honest, and unbiased source to tell you what you need and what you don’t need.

4. If you happen to be a musician, you should realize that having your own studio will give you ultimate artistic control over the whole process. You won’t be limited by time or money constraints when you have your own studio.

5. You don’t need to go to a recording school to quickly become skilled at recording. Between the push-button ease of newer technology and all the tutorial information available on the internet and in books, recording schools will waste your time and money. You’d be better off putting tuition money towards your own studio.

6. Lastly…. You don’t need a “real studio” to make great recordings. There’s a huge myth that if you don’t have some building specially designed for recording, you won’t be able to make good ones.

If you’d like to learn more about this, visit my websites.

Home Recording Studios - How To Get One For Far Cheaper Than You’d Ever Imagine

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Don’t even think about going to a recording studio without first discovering just how cheap it is to make your own. You might be thinking that creating your own recording studio is expensive – too expensive for you to even consider. Well, think again. A lot of people think this because they’ve been mislead by studio owners, sales people, magazine advertisements or a variety of other reasons.

Perhaps you’ve noticed this yourself: A lot more musicians are building their own recording studios today, and recording themselves. Quite simply, this is happening more and more often because more people are learning just how easy it is to record themselves and how cheap it can be.

As a matter of fact, with technology being as advanced and cheap as it is these days, it usually makes more sense for musicians to spend their money on their own recording gear than paying a studio to record it themselves. Not only to you get to control every little detail, but you can avoid having your music tainted by the recording engineer or producer at the studio.

One of the most important facts that musicians need to keep in mind – especially if you’re someone who hasn’t made a studio recording yet – it takes a lot of time to make a recording sound polished. For most musicians, even the best ones, it will take a lot of time to get the sounds your want and the performances you want. The hours will add up quickly and most studios charge anywhere from $35 per hour up to $80 per hour (and even more, depending on what part of the country you’re in).

As a studio owner myself I can tell you that an average band of musicians making an average, not-very-polished recording of one song will take about 2.5 to 3 hours per song. A truly polished recording of one song will probably take about 5 or more hours. Of course all this depends upon how many parts are in your song and the number of members, but this is a pretty accurate average from what I’ve experienced.

Now calculate the cost of mixing and mastering and you’ve spent a lot of money – anywhere between $150 and $300 dollars for just one song, if you have your music mixed and mastered at that studio. It will be more if you have the music mastered elsewhere. And we still haven’t even accounted for any CDs you might press.

Now consider the cost of making a four song demo, at a recording studio, based off of these numbers. That could run you anywhere from $600 to $1200. Do the math on a full album. We’re talking 1000’s of dollars.

WHOA!!! That’s a lot of money.

Once you understand what kind of equipment you need, and learn the dozens of tricks for getting it cheaply you could easily have your own studio ready to make the best recording you’ve ever made, doing it all for the same or even less money that it cost you to go to a studio. Not only does quality gear cost far less than it did just a few years ago, there are several ways to get gear at significant discounts, as low as 1/3 of retail price!

If you create your own studio, the best part is that the next time you record it will be totally FREE!!! And so will all the times after that!

What you need to realize is that you can definitely buy good, easy to operate gear for less than it costs you to record a full album. And depending upon your needs, it could very well be cheaper than recording a demo.

If you’re a singer / songwriter for any style of music (rap, R & B, folk, pop, etc.), don’t even think about going to a studio. Because you’re needs are so simple, you could definitely get your own recording setup for less than it would cost you to make a demo.

Do You Use A Writing Crutch?

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Ray Bradbury said if you’re a real writer, you should be able to write anything.

It doesn’t matter if the spirit moves you to ink short stories or plays or poetry or even criticism. Nothing is beyond you.

Perhaps, but certain writers use crutches in their craft. Without them they feel ineffective.

Some write their nonfiction books entirely in longhand. They leave the transposition of the works to their computer-handy assistants.

Julia Cameron, lead writer of THE ARTIST’S WAY, promotes the use of pen and paper when doing “morning pages.” These are errant scribbles that we get out of our system on a daily basis so more important contributions can flow through us. Cameron claims that you can’t quite get fully in touch with your SOURCE of inspiration, your muses, if you use computers.

The other day, I bought a beautifully bound tablet that fits into my hand. It has a nicely designed jacket, a red ribbon marker, and faintly lined blank pages within. It set me back the princely sum of eleven bucks at Pasadena’s Norton Simon Museum gift shop.

Normally, I use spiral bound notebooks that cost ninety nine cents, but I was in the mood to splurge and to have something more handsome to take along when I’m in the company of prospects and clients. Spiral notebooks scream, “Starving Student!” while this arty and pricier tablet seems to send a more upscale and refined message.

But it’s almost too pretty, too perfect the way it is. I haven’t used it yet because it seems to be waiting for me to express and capture something, well, monumental.

I caught myself staring at it a minute ago, and I recalled a weird conversation I had with an editor at a mid-sized publishing company that wanted to issue my latest self-help book.

She insisted on a minimum of 50,000 words, but she preferred 60,000 because she had a goal of pricing my book at $16.95.

Her logic eluded me. It seemed to say, readers buy books by the pound, instead of for the content.

Recall the fact that I just bought a tiny, BLANK book. I have to do the writing. There is a ZERO WORD COUNT, and I paid $11.00!

Obviously, some people don’t buy books by the word or for their girth.

I passed on the editor’s offer, opting instead to go with a different publishing house.

I guess it was Hemingway who insisted on using a Remington manual typewriter for his manuscripts, or was it Mickey Spillane, or both?

It was a fetish, a lucky charm, a machine that made their word factory rumble along.

I don’t think these blank books, no matter how beautifully bound, will ever become one of my serious writing tools.

Real writers want to spoil the nothingness, breathe some life into the vacuum.

If you’re a creative type, anything so superficially beautiful, yet empty inside, is bound to break your heart.

7 Steps To Creating The Success You So Much Desire In 2007!

Monday, April 30th, 2007

It’s the beginning of another year and I know you have so many expectations. You want to do this, you want to do that this year. You already have a clear picture of the kind of success you want in 2007 but to further assist you in creating the kind of success you so much desire this year, here are 7 tips. Hope you do find them useful.

1.) Know that you can achieve whatever goal you have set for yourself. You are a co-creator with God, you are unlimited. You are simply unstoppable and can achieve anything under the sun once you have put your mind to it.No matter how big your goal or dream is,you can achieve it.Let that sink into your system and endeavor not to limit yourself by your own imagination.Don’t be your own enemy.

2.) Be expectant just like a pregnant woman is always ecstatic about reaching her full nine months and giving birth to a bouncing baby.Feel like a pregnant woman, constantly expect miracles, expect the success you so much desire and I tell you,it will come. This is because whatever you use your imagination to attract into your life would ultimately come into being.Constantly think about that one thing that you so much desire because sooner than you can ever imagine, it would come into being.

3.) Do an assessment of last year and figure out what you did wrong that negatively affected the achievement of your goals. Determine to do things differently this year because if you keep doing things the same way,you will keep getting the same results.Sue Knight said, “Do what you have always done and you will get what you have always got.” For once, do things differently and see if it will not reflect in your life and finances.

4.) Take massive action. The only way to birth the success you so much desire this year is to take action on your dreams and goals. The universe is such that all things remain in their static position until you move them. You have to be an action taker,a moving force to achieve the succes you so much desire this year. For instance,if I didn’t get on my keyboard to type this article, you wouldn’t be reading and gaining from it now.Do you now see what taking action can do?

5.) Don’t move from one uncompleted project or idea to the other; you would end up a partially successful man(that is,if there is anything like that)but with me,you are a total failure.Even if you have 20 goals or ideas to pursue, make sure that you see each one you lay your hands on to fruition before you pick another one. Am I saying you can’t work on other ideas once you have laid hands on one? No.All I am saying is:make sure you see any goal, idea or project through to conclusion. You have to really discipline yourself in this regard because I have seen people who say they want to make money online jump from one Internet opportunity to the other, at the end of the day if they don’t make money, they turn round to blame others, not themselves.

6.Have an accountability partner. This is very essential because as human beings,we tend to lose focus easily and when you are on your own,you are worse off but an accountability partner will keep you on your toes, remind you of uncompleted tasks and other things. The advantages of having an accountability partner are really numerous and geared towards one thing:to help you create the success you so much desire in the new year.

7.) Expect opposition to the achievement of your goals.Challenges will come whether you like it or not so expect them before they come and figure out a way to deal with or cope with them.Have a really healthy attitude towards challenges and confront them headlong;don’t let them scare you away from achieving your goals.

If you follow these steps,I am sure you will have a sweet story to tell at the end of this year.
