The Face As a Different Component

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Is there some potential springlike-effect benefit in irons? The answer, like most things in golf technology, is yes and no. Most irons throughout history have had a springlike effect of about .760 (Coefficient of Restitution). A few of the modern irons are now reaching higher values, below the legal limit but still beneficial. For instance, in the long irons, TaylorMade’s rac CGB is one of these higher COR irons, which can show a slight increase in ball speed.

But it isn’t ball speed that I think most amateur golfers should be concerned with. The ultra-thin clubfaces, measuring less than 1.9 mm thick at their thinnest points, are lighter than faces of conventional thickness, allowing the designers to save 10 grams and upwards of weight. That weight is relocated to the lower-back of the club head, which helps to lower the CG to make it easier to launch the ball in the air on a high, penetrating, long-carrying ball flight. And that’s the real benefit that you, as amateur golfers, should be looking for.

Expect to see all the quality manufacturers add this innovation to their club head design on their irons. And don’t expect the innovations to stop there. In Japan, the testing ground of many innovations, you are now seeing Iron Heads that come in 5 pieces!

So don’t be taken in by the salesman telling you about a ‘hot face’ - it’s what they did with the weight they saved that makes the difference.

Building Outdoor Kitchens: The Hottest Trend In Cool Entertainment

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Building outdoor kitchens is all the rage and if you haven’t already built one, I’m sure you’ve got an outdoor kitchen plan for your home. And why not upgrade your backyard to be the hot spot on the block for entertaining and relaxing.

Outdoor kitchens increase your living space adding tremendous value and appeal to your home. That’s why building outdoor kitchens is the second most popular remodeling project after indoor kitchens.

However, building a great outdoor kitchen is a complex project.

You can certainly enjoy your backyard and grill up some tasty BBQ on any charcoal or gas grill, but to truly bring your kitchen outdoors requires significant planning, skill and expertise. This project is not a do-it-yourselfer.

Here’s what you’ll need to consider:

Your basic outdoor kitchen set-up will include a built-in barbeque grill, countertop, sink, refrigerator, outdoor kitchen cabinets and cozy outdoor furniture or barstools for yourself and all your guests to kick back.

The barbecue grills on the market today offer so many bells and whistles shop around to determine how much grill you want.

Next, the type of countertop surface is a crucial decision when building outdoor kitchens. Options include tile, quartz, solid surface, granite and other natural stones. Choosing the right countertop will ensure years of enjoyment and admiration. The wrong one …years of hassles and headaches.

Additional Luxuries

For the ultimate in luxury, you may also consider installing pergolas, stereos, ceiling fans, fire pits and more. Even TVs are moving outside.

Comfort & Flow

Comfort is key to enjoying your outdoor kitchen and entertainment space. But before you empty your wallet on that imported teak dining set with bar stools, take a look at the space you have available and decide how it’s going to “flow.”

Everyone needs a little space so, make sure your outdoor kitchen plan accounts for some basic and standard construction measurements to allow plenty of room to sit and move about.

Also keep in mind protection from the sun, rain and wind.

Outdoor Kitchen Location

Easy access to your primary kitchen is still important for overall convenience. And building outdoor kitchens requires access to water, electricity and gas, which means this project will almost certainly require a permit. You’ll have many discussions with your contractor about all of these items, but this should get the juices flowing on your great outdoor kitchen plan.

Generate A Massive Adsense Income The Easy Way

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

So I guess you’ve heard of Adsense then, right? And you know that it’s possible to make a massive residual Adsense income from Adsense ads placed on your website, right?

Well let’s think about it for a second. Slow down and really imagine that thought for a moment or two. You actually think you can create an adsense income, just by placing adsense ads on your website, and people will flock to your website, and click on your adsense ads a million times, and you’ll be filthy stinking rich overnight precious? Hmm…….

Okay, I know you’re not that stupid, and you realise there’s more work involved with adsense to make things work right. And by right, I mean the above scenario actually happens. People visit your site, and by clever application of certain insider techniques, visitors start to click your ads, and earn you a whopping big adsense commission cheque.

So how do you create this income then? What are these secrets to explode your adsense income? Why are you only earning a few measly pennies each day, if that? Well, I’ll tell you. But first, you must understand something that is paramount to your success. This is essential, no matter what kind of income you’re trying to create, no matter what line of internet marketing you choose. Are you ready?

Creating a massive adsense income TAKES TIME! I can’t stress this enough. If you tried adding the code to your sites, and messing with different adsense ad types, and after a week, got fed up and quit, then adsense is never going to bring you any kind of income, period

But you’ve read this far, so hopefully you already realise that anything worthwhile takes time. Let’s say you’re serious about using adsense as another stream of income. So you now need to know the four vital ingredients to make your adsense ads spit out that dream income, in the shortest time possible.

They are:

1. Content

2. Keywords

3. Your ads

4. Traffic

Get used to these four words. They are the cornerstone of your adsense Income project. Repeat them out loud, and memorize them. Whenever you lose track of your objective, make sure these four words are in your thoughts, and use them to draw the adsense income you desire.

So what’s left then? Oh that’s right, you need to actually know the secrets the biggest earners are using. I know people are actually making thousands per month online, from adsense alone. This income is available to anyone who wants it. That much is obvious.

So how does $19,156 a month, every month, sound to you? Who earns that much, you say? Well Michael Cheney, for starters. He’s been quietly raking in cash, hand over fist for months on end. And now he’s sharing all that lovely adsense master knowledge with us lucky humans too. I saw his videos, and income proof, and my jaw dropped three storeys below. Hey, my adsense income has skyrocketed since I applied his stuff. I get a truckload of income boosting clicks each day. It’s amazing when you find adsense advice that’s actually been tested in the real world, information that will create an income you desire.

Anyway I just thought I’d share my thoughts on it this week, because, as you know, most adsense income guides and e-books are plain crap. Michael Cheney’s Adsense Videos are on a different level, man. I’ve included the link to his site, obviously so you can take a look, and see that I’m not talking BS. If you get any adsense income product this year, you should make it this one. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

This article was written by John O’ Neill, a successful Internet Marketer and Ebay seller who has been working away in the shadows for some months now.

My Adsense income has been launched skyward as of late, by Michael Cheney’s Adsense Videos, and I can’t stress enough how much these simple secrets could help you turn your time into cash, lot’s and lot’s of cash. He shows you step by step, how to turn your free time into adsense income. No BS, no crap filler. Really. Just find a few minutes to read all about it at my page real-adsense-success.com
Thanks for reading.

Technology In The Little Big Club

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Despite it being a ‘little’ club, the putter incorporates some really big ideas, so over the next two weeks, I’ll be highlighting some of the latest technological advances in putter design.

Designers are always looking to create that Putter with the perfect balance and feel. But believe me, it isn’t a mystical journey, creating balance and feel is all about getting a number of technologies and the weight of the Putter to work in unison.

The Weight distribution in the head is of critical importance to the designers. Your Putter must swing with a balanced feel but the weight placement must also provide a high MOI (a measurement of the resistance to twisting) and a broad sweet spot (offering increased forgiveness).

Do not under-estimate the importance of these technologies to you. After the initial impression that a Putter with great balance and feel offers, results are critical to your confidence. A Putter with a higher MOI will hit the ball straighter more frequently and a broader sweet spot will offer greater consistency on your distance.

Try comparing a Putter with a lower MOI to one with a higher MOI. If you concentrate you can feel that the lower MOI Putter is more inclined to rotate around its core.

Heel and Toe Weighting, pioneered by Ping, positions weight away from the center and that expands the sweet spot. Again compare two Putters and you will feel the difference if one is not heel and toe weighted.

When you talk about a golf club and weighting, feel and balance you will always end up talking about the CoG. In your irons, a lower COG is the norm, because it aids correct trajectory and facilitates backspin generation. However, in the design of a Putter, extreme care has to be taken in the placement of the CoG. Lowest isn’t necessarily best. Designers don’t want a backspin skidding motion on the ball at one extreme or too much over spin that bounces the ball. Getting this right will enable the putt to maintain its intended line.

Many of the manufacturers have acquired very specialist designers to oversee the development of their new Putters. The search for the perfect balance and feel goes on.

Deliver Us From Evil by Philip Luber-Fawcett Books

Do Butterflies Dream?

Here is an excellent mystery written by a forensic psychologist. The story is told from the first person viewpoint of psychiatrist, Dr Harry Kline. While ostensibly a novel about a hit and run crime, this is actually a complex work which delves particularly into the convoluted, often poignant, relationships between fathers and daughters. And everyone’s need for love.

Dr Kline, like all the characters in the book, is well-drawn. He displays weaknesses and oversights, as well as strengths. The author is less charitable toward a malpracticing psychologist. In contrast, he portrays a social worker as warm, wise and professional (which, as a former social worker myself, I appreciated).

Characterization of scene matches the vividness of characterization of people. The reader certainly gets to know the Concord, Mass., area. Minor quibbles are that there is too much repetition about men thinking with their penises, too much repetition about the origins of the American Revolution (perhaps as a Brit I’m a mite too sensitive) and the author should have checked whether Bibles are really publicly available in Catholic churches.

The writing is lively. Therapists will delight in the fictional psychiatrist’s observations, some of which I have taken the liberty of quoting below. There are acute observations on the so-called False Memory debate, as well as insights into issues such as confidentiality — and the frailty of therapists who are, after all, human.

To quote Dr Kline: “In my professional life, I encourage people to take risks and talk about what’s bothering them. In my personal life, I can be as reluctant as anyone else to face problems head-on.”

The butterfly motif (it appears on the cover and is intimately linked to two of the daughters in the text) seems to contain a multitude of meanings, ranging from a flight from, to a branding of, evil.

Tears came to my eyes when I read a moving passage in the book between the hero’s daughter, whose mother is dead, and her grieving grandfather.

There’s also humor in the book. The exchanges between Dr Kline and his best friend, a lawyer, brought several chuckles. Welcome relief to the serious context surrounding these men who strive to be honorable.

Hypnotic recall of trauma receives a drubbing. Luber certainly makes his points that hypnosis is no truth serum, that memory is malleable and that the human imagination is awesome.

Two quotations from Dr Kline, aka Philip Luber, with which most therapists would agree:

“When you make a decision for a patient, you damage the sense of confidence and independence that you should be helping him build.”

“Psychiatrists can’t read minds. We study the chemistry of the brain; we give medications to alter it. We listen to our patients’ words; we classify them. We observe our patients’ behaviors; we codify them. We match their complaints and impairments against esoteric theories of psychological development, and we come up with diagnoses and labels that fool us into thinking we understand that which is, ultimately, incomprehensible by man: the human spirit.”

Amen.

The Saturday Side Business

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Sometimes, it would seem that we just need a side business to go with our paychecks. Everybody has been there. In this article, I will be suggesting some side businesses you can start with little time and organization. Most won’t interrupt your family life and likewise they won’t pay your mortgage but it might pay your entertainment fund.

In this case, I am not speaking of skills as most people can develop a talent where it wasn’t before if only for the sake of researching it by asking a few questions.

The Saturday Business:

Suggestion One:

Landscaping. Start by asking questions at the nursery, move onto people who are landscaping and start there. Rather than take the job from somebody, post your ad for free on the internet or at the employment center as well as staff room tables.

If you don’t have the expertise to plant trees, read all about it. Most landscaping involves moving objects such as rocks, cutting lawns, planting trees and other plants. The great thing about this kind of job is that if you’re booked, then that’s it. You don’t need to do it every day of the week, just once in a while or once a week. It has a guaranteed payoff and doesn’t require an investment if you already own a few gardening tools.

Suggestion Two:

Ask a local business that does dance or some other activity if you can run a drop-in craft table. Investment is low. I would say that it would be ten dollars per craft and with just five people showing up and giving you two dollars, you have the capacity to make a lot more. Crafts should be things people don’t do at home. Ie. Painting, glueing.

Most parents are happy to pay a little for a smile from their kids and at the same time you are enjoying an hour or two helping the youngsters get some skills.

At the same time, you’re running under the business owner’s insurance.

Suggestion Three:

Entertaining. There is lots of money to be made in entertainment. Some people I know have advertised their homes for party capers. As in, they make the whole party. Guests and the birthday boy just show up. They provide the entertainment and move everything along. Do a birthday a week and it’s a good side business.

Indoor playgrounds charge as much as 150 dollars for not much for ten guests. The true trick would be providing good food, entertainment and excitement. Do it all.

As you will be having people to your home or going to others, definitely buy some insurance. It is usually minimal.

Suggestion Four:

Emergency daycare. Advertise locally for Saturday all day care and evening daycare. If you already have kids, this is a good choice when you don’t want to be tied down all week to doing daycare.

I’ve seen ads for New Year’s Daycare. This one woman has a whole crew of people working and starts booking early in January for next years New Year.

When doing this, it’s very important to have additional insurance. Anytime something involves people, it is definitely a worthwhile investment.

Suggestion Five:

I’ve personally done this one. Offer 100 percent organic cleaning of vinyl siding homes. Rather than powerwash, which of course is terrible on bricks, wood and vinyl, offer this service. With two car brushes…one square and one round, it’s the ultimate get wet kind of job.

Suggestion Six:

Scrapbook people’s photos. Everybody wants to scrapbook their own photos but nobody has time. Offer this as a service to people. Set a value for the completed scrapbook and buy all kinds of dollar store paper and stickers to get the job done. Of coures, the customer would provide their own scrapbook and the photos.

All of the above will work well with a few flyers and some free ads. They’ve been tested over and over again by all sorts of Saturday businesses.

The Most Important Aspect Of Any Transaction

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Lately it has become apparent that the single most important aspect of any transaction is communication. This is especially true in a transaction as important as adding people to your organization. You cannot expect to find the “Right Person with the Right Fit” if the skill of communication is overlooked. Here are four practical ways to improve your communication.

Ask questions.

There are no dumb questions. Many misunderstandings can be avoided with just a simple question, but many people are afraid to ask them for fear they’ll be perceived poorly. Your staff augmentation firm was hired for their expertise. Their job is to answer your questions. If their representative is condescending then it’s time to find a new firm. Un-asked questions will lead to poor solutions.

Work to understand the other party’s point of view.

In any successful relationship there has to be empathy. When you receive undesirable information be careful that you don’t “shoot the messenger.” Your recruiter cannot dictate the availability of candidates, the market price for skills or the personal behavior of candidates. That recruiter is just as frustrated as you are by the candidate who disappears to the Bahamas just when you want to interview him. Working together to overcome these obstacles is to the benefit of both parties. Remember that you share a common goal: “Right Person, Right Fit!”

Set expectations.

So often, deals fall apart because people do not know what is expected of them and when. If you are on a tight deadline or budget, communicate this up front. If your key decision maker is scheduled to be in Europe for a week, let your recruiter know. Letting candidates you interviewed sit for a week without feedback will cause most of them to move on to the next opportunity. Managing expectations up front will help you avoid these pitfalls.

Take your responsibilities seriously.

After you have communicated all of your concerns and gotten answers to all your questions, make sure you follow through. Review the resumes while they’re fresh, schedule the interviews as soon as possible and provide feedback as needed. Giving this process high priority for a short amount of time, will get it wrapped up and allow you to move on to more important things, with that “Right Person” onboard.

Affiliate Blogs: How To Get Rich From Single-Post Blogs

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Affiliate marketers can make much more money by becoming affiliate bloggers.

If you’ve ever created a Web site, you know that it’s something of a hassle, even if you’re starting with a template. This means that as an affiliate, you’re promoting fewer products than you could, and making much less income. Blogging provides a quick solution.

Don’t Create an Affiliate Web Site - Create a Blog

For your next product promotion, don’t set up a Web site, create a blog. (A blog is a Web site, after all.) You can set up a Blogger or WordPress.com blog in a minute or two. If you choose to set up WordPress on your own domain, many Web hosting companies include free solutions like Fantastico in their hosting package. Fantastico delivers a one-click WordPress installation.

A Blog Gives You an Instant Affiliate Promotion’s Page

If you’re like most affiliate marketers, you have dozens of products you’d like to promote, if only you had the time. By creating a series of single-product, single-page affiliate blogs, you’ve got plenty of time to promote all the products which catch your eye.

So when you’re choosing a new affiliate product to promote don’t create a Web site, just create a new blog, titled with the name of your affiliate product, and write a single post. Then hey presto, an instant sales page for your new promotion.

Since blogs are crawled and indexed by the search engines very quickly, your sales page will be available to Web searchers within a day or two, maximum.

You can promote this single-product affiliate blog in all the ways you normally would - via Pay Per Click advertising, article marketing, and posts on forums. In much less time than it takes to create a simple single-page Web site, you can create a dozen blogs.

What About Affiliate Review Sites?

If you choose to review three or more products on your blog, you can simply create as many more additional blog posts as you need.

In affiliate marketing, time is money. By creating affiliate blogs, you’ve given yourself much more time, and you can promote many more products.

Hire an SEO Firm or “Cook” for Yourself?

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Chances are, you went out to eat sometime in the last few weeks. Why?

Perhaps you don’t like to cook. Perhaps you like having food brought to you while you relax. Perhaps you were in a hurry. Perhaps your cooking skills are limited to heating a frozen dinner in the microwave. Perhaps you’ve found a place where you really like the food. Whatever your reason, you chose to pay for a professional to do something you could probably, with some effort, do yourself–prepare and serve you a meal.

In my work with search engine optimization (SEO), I’ve heard several people say, directly and indirectly, that it’s basically a waste of money to hire someone to do SEO for your website, because “anyone can do it.” Let’s look at that idea for a few minutes. Here are some reasons why, just as you would choose to eat at a restaurant, you would choose to turn SEO over to a professional.

1. “Anyone” can’t do it.
As I mentioned earlier, many people’s cooking skills are limited. Marcia’s greatest culinary accomplishments may be boiling an egg and making macaroni and cheese out of a box. There’s nothing wrong with that, of course. But if she wanted to impress a potential client or business colleague with a nice dinner, she wouldn’t put herself in charge of meal preparation.

The same goes for SEO. If you know something about keywords, and what a “title tag” is, and that having links between your website and other sites is useful, that’s great, but that knowledge doesn’t put you on par with a professional, any more than boiling an egg makes Marcia a chef.

SEO professionals spend lots of time learning and testing strategies to improve a website’s visibility. Not tricks like invisible keyword stuffing (which will get a site banned from search engines), but real stuff like:

  • how visitors use a website
  • what pages are popular and why
  • what searchers are looking for
  • what search engines are looking for
  • whether using new technologies helps or hurts or does nothing
  • whether version A or version B of a page brings in more visitors
  • how to allocate money in a pay-per-click campaign (where the numbers and competition are always changing)

and so on. It isn’t a “just add water” deal. Real search engine optimization involves lots of testing and analysis and monitoring, and being able to understand both numbers and people. You could probably learn how to do it, if you were willing to put in the time and effort. You could also spend two years in college and learn to be a professional chef. But do you really want to?

2. An SEO firm can get better and faster results than you can.
They have already tested and chosen powerful tools for analyzing your website’s performance. They already know all the methods to improving search engine rankings–the ones to use and the ones to avoid. They may even know which methods work best for your particular industry. And the faster they can optimize your website, the faster you’ll see increased profits. After all, a website is a marketing tool. A good SEO firm knows how to make it perform.

3. Focus on what you do best, and let others do the rest.
Can you imagine every individual trying to provide for themselves the product or service that you provide? There is a reason why businesses exist. Humans learned long ago that things go better when people specialize and trade services with one another. (Now we use money for the trade, but the specialization remains.) Turning SEO over to a professional firm frees you up to do the things you’re good at–just like eating at a restaurant frees you up to spend time and energy on other things.

Choosing an SEO firm
An older family member probably taught you that if you walk into an unfamiliar restaurant and see that the dining area is dirty, you know it’s not a safe bet to eat there. After all, if they don’t bother to clean the area you see, what is the kitchen like?

This kind of common sense wisdom is passed from generation to generation. But we don’t have this benefit when it comes to choosing an SEO firm. Search engines have only been in wide use for about ten years, and companies dedicated to search engine optimization are even newer. For a few years, many SEO firms had an “anything goes” attitude toward optimization, using all sorts of tricks to get high rankings and draw traffic. Search engine companies fought back by cracking down on the more deceptive methods, now referred to as “Black Hat SEO.” Good SEO firms have learned how to work with the search engines, rather than trying to trick them.

How do you tell if an SEO firm is a good one? Here are some tips:

  • Be wary of companies guaranteeing results that they don’t have complete control over, like search engine rankings.
  • Ask about a company’s standards and code of ethics.
  • Get a sample copy of a contract to look over. Make sure that what they will do is clearly laid out. Also be aware of what they expect you to contribute to the process, and what protection you have if the work is unsatisfactory.
  • The company’s methods should be varied, including keyword research, linking campaigns, content writing/editing, and site layout/navigation. If the company only talks about one method of optimizing your site (or focuses on only one major search engine), then they won’t help you as much as a company that covers all the bases.
  • Good SEO takes time to work, and it benefits from periodic reviews and updates. Your SEO firm should not give you the impression that you’ll see amazing results within ten days, and they should be available to monitor their efforts and “tweak” the optimization methods as time goes on.

In time, the SEO industry will get more respect, as the stigma of “Black Hat SEO” passes, SEO firms become more standardized, and people see what a great return on investment optimization is. I expect that in the future, search engine optimization and other forms of Internet marketing will become a standard part of website packages. But for now, many people remain in the dark about what a good SEO firm can do. You are no longer one of them. Take advantage of your knowledge and find a company that can maximize your website’s potential. You’ll be enjoying a five-star dinner, while your competition chokes down more of that mac and cheese.

A Critical Look At Bipolar Depression Characteristics

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Bipolar disorder is a medical diagnosis which refers to people who suffer from feelings of mania one minute and depression the next.

When compared to the ups and downs of average people, a bipolar sufferer can go through a wide range of mixed emotions, or mood swings, which can last anywhere from minutes to months!

Changes in mood are often partnered up with feelings of disruption and distress, with high suicidal tendencies. Bipolar can also be linked to extreme creative functioning which means that your creative talents can be enhanced.

Bipolar disorder is categorized into two types, Type I or Type II. Type I sufferers can experience the highs of full blown mania but the Type II’s will only reach such highs if they are triggered by mania medications.

During these manic periods, psychosis may occur. Rapid cycling is also another possibility. When talking about bipolar, severity and problems connected with moods have its own variations. Thus, a bipolar spectrum disorder concept is employed more often which includes cyclothymia.

People with bipolar disorder will experience periods of abnormally agitated moods which in turn just end up adding to the depressed mood condition. The duration and intensity of these mood conditions will vary among people.

The moods of bipolar people will fluctuate from one state to the next, resulting in improved functioning or impairment, all depending on the different highs and lows being experienced. The energy level, cognitive functioning, social rhythms, activity level and sleep pattern are also altered from the average person.

The depression that is experienced by bipolar people is very similar to the depression experienced by clinically depressed people.

Some of the symptoms for people coping with bipolar depression are:

  • Sadness
  • Anger
  • Guilt
  • Hopelessness
  • Fatigue
  • Anxiety
  • Problems concentrating
  • Loneliness
  • Suicidal tendencies

Bipolar depression is one of the most serious problems that an individual can face. Some other types of serious depression are also accompanied by psychosis symptoms like:

  • Hallucinations
  • Delusions
  • and Escapism

People dealing with bipolar depression also tend to have paranoid thoughts. They can often times begin coming up with the idea that the ones that are close to them are actually conspiring against them. They may think that their families are just leaving them or have just forgot about them.

The primary nature of a bipolar disorder is flux. It is the state of mental operation wherein a person is immersed fully on what she or he is doing, accompanied with a feeling of full involvement, energized focus, and success during the activity process.

As for what the cause to bipolar disorder is… the United States National Institute of Mental Health states that there is no predetermined cause for bipolar disorder.

There are a lot of different factors that are working together to create the disorder. Bipolar often runs in families so researchers are currently searching for a specific gene that could be causing it however the general theory is that it is caused by multiple genes, just like most other mental illnesses.

Rick Seager was diagnosed with bipolar disorder several years ago but he was determined not to let it take control of his life. So he fought back and has gone on to become the bestselling author of the ebook “Bipolar Disorder Uncovered” and he also enjoys writing articles on bipolar. Check out his website now for more info =>http://www.BipolarDisorderUncovered.com
