Golf Swing Tip Instructions - Stop The Slice

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

The single biggest golf swing tip instructions that golfer’s want the most is in dealing with slicing the golf ball. It’s a problem that 80% - 90% of all golfers face.

Does this sound familiar? You aim way left and hit your tee shot, only to watch it fly way right? How do you go about stopping that dreaded slice? This is exactly what you’re about to learn today. And in doing so you’ll begin to enjoy the game of golf like it is meant to be.

Slicing is caused mainly from these three areas: the swing plane, clubhead path, and the golf grip. It’s not caused by where you are aiming, or even how you’re standing. Once you make the adjustments in these three areas, you’ll put an end to the problem.

First, let’s look at the swing plane. Most golf swing instructions don’t touch on the swing plane, but that is the number reason for slicing the ball.

The swing plane for every golf club will be different. What I mean by that is if you take your driver and your 9-iron out and hold them at the address position, you’ll quickly see that the 9-ron is closer to your body. This means that the swing plane is going to be different for the 9-iron than the driver. The 9-iron will be more upright and feel straighter up and down, while the driver feels flatter.

The cause of most slicing problems is due to golfers swinging the driver on a steeper swing plane like the 9-iron. When you swing the club too steeply, the result is an outside in swing pattern and a slice. The key is to flatten out the swing plane which will create a straighter shot. This will take some practice, but continue to make adjustments and you’ll find the correct swing plane.

If this doesn’t eliminate the problem, then work on the clubhead path. The clubhead path needs to be square as it goes through the impact zone. This may require you to adjust the position of the club in your hands to be a little more to the left. Again, make the adjustments a little at a time while on the range.

Finally, the golf grip may be the reason for slicing. A weak grip inevitably causes the ball to go right. Try strengthening your grip by rolling your hands a little to the right, which causes the “V” to point more to the right of your face. A weak grip is the second most common reason for slices.

Of course, these golf swing tip instructions are not as detailed as they can be. You can find more detailed tips and instructions at the end of this article. With these simple tips and a little practice on the range you should begin noticing improvement immediately.

Food Glorious Food On Board The Carnival Glory

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

The Carnival Glory is 110,000 tons of glorious fun. The ship was built in 2002 and is the second in a series of Conquest class ships produced by Carnival Cruise Lines. This vessel has something for everyone whether young or old. For those seeking excitement and action or relaxation and peace this is the ship for you. Carnival Cruise Lines has mastered the art of entertaining and serving thousands at once.

Let’s start with the most talked about cruise experience of all, dining at sea. On the carnival Glory there are two formal dining rooms called the Platinum and the Golden. Upon boarding you will be assigned one of these with a specific dining time and table number. You are not obligated to eat here at any time however if you choose to dine in these dining rooms you must sit at your assigned table and arrive on time or you will not be allowed in. You may be seated with others or only with your traveling companion. Some love this aspect of dining on a cruise, getting to know new people , I do not as I am very shy and always request a table for only those that I travel with.

These two dining rooms serve a different menu each night with lobster being served on formal night which usually is takes place on the first day at sea with no port stop. There are usually 7 entrees to choose from, a chicken, a beef, a fish and a vegetarian selection. Anything you see as an entree can be prepared as an appetizer instead if you would like to just sample it. There are also at least 6 appetizers to choose from like chicken satay skewers or mississipi delta prawns. Caesar salad and garden salad are always on the menu. The dessert menu is scrumptious with treats such as tiramisu or key lime pie you are sure to find one to your liking. Dessert usually has 4 or 5 choices, one of them being low fat or sugar free.

There are several options for dining if you prefer to set your own schedule. The most formal of these is the upscale supper club called the Emerald room. This room is elegant with giant faux emeralds as the lighting fixtures. You can expect a leisurely dining experience of two to three hours at the Emerald room and the best quality of food and service anywhere at sea. For this privilege there is a small surcharge. Reservations are required so do that soon after boarding. On the first night of your sailing there will be a presentation in the Old Glory atrium lobby. Many people make their reservations at this time. You can have lobster at the supper club on any night as well as filet mignon, Russian caviar or lamb.

If you would rather just eat when you are hungry then the following are your options. Carnival is famous for their 24 hours pizzeria and the one on the Carnival Glory does not disappoint. Pizza slices or a whole pizza pie can be made to order as well as delicious calzones . Caesar salad is offered here as the perfect accompaniment. It is located at the ships aft otherwise known as the back.

The Redsail restaurant is at the back of the ship. There are several different food stations set up with their own category of food. This Lido restaurant dishes out a variety of ethnic foods such as Mexican or Italian or American BBQ daily for lunch and a sumptuous buffet for dinner. The Lido grill near the main pool serves hamburgers hot dogs and fries, salads and cold meat, a hit with the kids as always.

There is an asian food station that serves egg rolls and fried rice or noodles. Because the food here is cooked ahead of time and kept under warming lights it tastes much like mall food from a food court. Definitely not worth lining up for so if you must go do so during off peak hours not during meal times.

There is a deli where you can order deli standards like corned beef on rye or a bagel with cream cheese. There are 8 different sandwiches to choose from and all of them can be grilled if you like. Your deli sandwiches are made when you order them just how you like it so the lines are long. Go to the deli in the first two days of your cruise before the masses discover it and they wait will be shorter.

The best kept secret of the Carnival Glory is the fish and chips station inside of the Redsail restaurant. It is hidden on the second floor of the Redsail at the very back. Because of the location there is never a long lineup but the fish and chips are delicious. Calamari and oysters as well as tuna and some sort of fish soup or stew is also on the menu.

At several places around the Redsail you will find the ice cream and frozen yoghurt stations where you can make your own sundaes or cones from your choice of vanilla or chocolate, fat free or fat full. There is always one open 24 hours a day.

On the Kaleidescope boulevard there is a sushi bar where sushi but not sashimi, the raw fish kind, is offered from about 5pm until 8 pm. There is no charge for sushi so dig in. There are five kinds to choose from and chopsticks are provided as well as the usual sushi partners or pickled ginger and wasabi. There is never a wait for sushi though because it is located right beside the patisserie that serves pastries, cakes and specialty coffees for a fee. People assume that there is a fee for sushi as well.

Last but not least is room service. Room service is also included in your cruise fare but it is appropriate to tip a couple of dollars to the server who delivers it to your cabin. You can order a cornucopia of food from the room service menu. From salads to cookies and sandwiches with chips all are free. Drinks that you can order are juices and milk but not the lemonade or iced tea available in the dining room. You can pre-order breakfast to come in the morning with a pot of coffee to enjoy on your balcony.

A Better Strategy for Hiring

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

There is a valuable lesson managers can learn about recruiting from professional sports. In professional sports, each change in a team’s line-up makes headlines. Fans speculate how their team will fare with the loss of one player or the addition of another. And for coaches, every change in the line-up is critical, their jobs frequently hanging in the balance. Each pick, therefore, is based upon a careful, strategic, selection process. Moreover, the selection process often begins long before an actual change. It’s the sports world’s s approach to succession planning.

The same dynamics should hold true for hiring members of the organization’s team. Yet too few managers rank themselves high in selection or interviewing skills. Fewer still are trained in the skills needed for adequate succession planning. Many managers, in fact, go to inordinate lengths to retain mediocre employees rather than face making changes. And some readily acknowledge that the person most likely to get a job is not the best person for the job, but the person best skilled in job hunting techniques. What’s a manager to do? Learn from the “pros”.

Every day during the year, a professional coach has to re-assess his team’s ability to win. Every game is a performance test. When was the last time you evaluated your team in light or your company’s goals. What changes do you face? If you know you are going to lose a key player, or if a key player is not performing, what will your team look like without him/her? What hidden strengths and/or weaknesses will emerge with that player out of the game? What political implications exist that might also limit team performance? Write down a listing of all the strengths and weaknesses of the remaining players. What gaps need to be filled for your team to go on to greater victories?

Break your list of strengths and weaknesses down into those that MUST be satisfied if the team is to achieve more. On a separate sheet, make a list of those remaining items you would LIKE to acquire or avoid. Your MUST list defines the skills MANDATORY in any serious job applicant. When you interview serious contenders, (serious contenders are the only people you should even consider interviewing) evaluate their competence in each MUST category. In addition, see how many of your LIKE items you can satisfy as well. As you move along in the selection process, make sure to interview the most likely candidates more than once. Introduce him/her to the other team members and get feedback from them. Evaluate the candidate’s enthusiasm for the job and your company. Given a choice between slightly stronger qualifications or a contagious enthusiasm, go for the enthusiasm. (The ‘art’ of most jobs can be learned, a will to win, however, is often hard to find, produces extraordinary results and should be encouraged.) Check all references rigorously. If the candidate is internal, evaluate his/her past history, internal sponsors and internal “talk” about the candidate. Make sure you provide for an adequate probationary period, even for the internal candidate.

When you hire, indoctrinate the new team member warmly and well. Make the person feel that s/he is now a part of your team’ a team designed for winning. Getting off to a good start, as any coach will tell you, makes for a potentially winning season.

Belly Dancing Bra Belt Sets

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

Belly dancing bra belt sets are an essential item for any experienced or even amateur belly dancer. The belly dancing bra belt set is like the foundation of belly dancing. We all know that belly dancing is focused on flowing movement of the hips and stomach region and this being said, it is important for a serious belly dancer to use a good belly dancing bra belt set that is matching and also accentuates the torso area.

Many shops stock amazing quality belly dancing bra belt sets, all you have to do is figure out what style you are, and what color would suit you best, and then go ahead and get it! Usually brighter colors are better, because they seem to be more hypnotic and particularly exotic. Usually different colors help to bring out the skills and appearance of certain dancer types. For example a woman with dark olive skin might get a couple of belly dancing bra belt sets, most of them being light colors, like pale blue and pink, to bring out her exotic dark skin, whereas the belly dancing bra belt sets that a woman with very pale skin would most likely be the total opposite, probably dark red and dark blue, these colors can even be mixed to create an amazingly different look.

What type of belly dancing bra belt sets are right for me?

Well, anything that you feel comfortable performing in honestly. If your favorite color is pink, then you should get pink, if you like tassels and sparkly jewels then get something with them on, do whatever makes you happy, because you will have a better mindset when your dancing and if you feel comfortable then you are sure to perform much better, it is a fact of life and is evident in everything we do. When doing an activity like belly dancing, remember that it’s something you do for your own enjoyment, so make sure you keep it fun!

I am an avid belly dancing enthusiast - always looking to increase my knowledge of belly dancing and other exotic forms of dancing.

Gangsta Artist Getting A Bad Rap?

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

West Coast rapper Sing-a-Ling-a-Ding chose an unthinkable method to heat up a public feud with an East Coast rival last week.

The 23-year-old, best known in the industry as the driving force behind the emergence of Slap Rap for his hard-hitting lyrics, shocked insiders and fans alike when he released his latest album “The Pug of Thug” on Tuesday.

The album’s cover features an image of Sing-a-Ling-a-Ding dressed only in high heels and a grossly oversized T-shirt. He also has a bib tied around his neck.

But it wasn’t the album’s lyrics or high heels that had people talking. No, everyone seemed distracted by the gigantic “Property of Melva” T-shirt he was wearing to worry about some silly footwear.

Melva, of course, is the name of Busta Nut’s beloved mother. Melva, who weighed more than 375 pounds, died two weeks ago after choking on a chicken bone. While Busta Nut and Sing-a-Ling-a-Ding have engaged in a fierce rap battle for many years, experts say insulting an artist’s mother has long been taboo.

“Talk about my speeding tickets, talk about my overgrown lawn, you can even talk about my love of fruity alcoholic drinks, but don’t ever say a word about my mama,” said I Know Music magazine editor Ed White. “That has been the golden rule of rap since the jheri curl was in style.”

Sing-a-Ling-a-Ding’s agent released the following statement after news of the controversy engulfed the rap world. “Busta’s mama ain’t even herre anymore, so why should he carre what I say about herr,” Sing-a-Ling-a-Ding said in the release. “If I offended anyone with the album’s cover that was my intention. I didn’t get into this business to make friends. I got into it for the bitches.”

Critics have praised the album’s contents but cringe at its cover.

“If you look closely at the album cover, you can see grease stains on the bib and T-shirt,” music reviewer Tiger Undo said. “Those marks are a deliberate attempt to humiliate Busta since we all know by now that Busta’s mother had difficulty using the phone to dial 911 while she choked because of the chicken grease on her fingers. Her inability to call for help contributed to her death and that’s deep. Much deeper than the deep fried chicken she loved.”

The fuss hasn’t hurt record sales as Sing-a-Ling-a-Ding’s album has been atop the charts since its debut. Over the weekend he mingled with fans at several clubs and signed autographs while wearing a “Nobody Trusta Busta” T-shirt. The T-shirt sold out in just 10 minutes after being on his record label’s website.

“I definitely like his material and this album,” fan Evelyn Rose said. “The T-shirt is pretty cool too. It probably has made me more aware of what I put in my mouth and I think that’s a good thing. Melva’s death was not in vain.”

Busta Nut has not publicly commented on his rival’s diss but sources close to him say he is one angry rapper. He has an album due out next month but is apparently delaying its release so he can work on new tracks in defense of his mother.

“Talk is cheap but Busta is going to let his rapping do the talking,” said a friend. “And if it takes a T-shirt to get his revenge and message across, you can bet Busta will carve out Sing-a-Ling-a-Ding’s heart to wear on his sleeve.”

Dna-For Fitter & Happy Living

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

Francis Harry Compton Crick was a physicist, molecular biologist and neuro scientist – a co-discoverer of the structure of the DNA molecule in 1953. He was awarded the 1962 Nobel Prize jointly with James D. Watson and Maurice Wilkins for discovering the molecular structure of nuclei acids and the importance for information transfer in living matter.

DNA is an abbreviation for Deoxyribonucleic Acid. Since its discovery, a new page has evolved in scientific history where old questions have a new and different yet startling answers. It has mostly improved human life and thinking. It has brought the past under a clear microscopic view and the present to advancement in every field. This 3 letters have tremendously altered and will renew many aspects of living. You can pronounce it as ‘de nah’

In my early years , I always had an ‘addiction’ for staying slim. To me staying slim means staying fit. I would never had a day without a 30 minutes jog around my living estate. The day I felt bored was the day when I did not go for a run. I was obsessed with it.

In child hood I was very playful. Not hyper but playful. Like most children. I played lots of games and my favourite was all of them. I thought this might be the reason for my being active in later life. But then my peers were not as ‘slim conscious’ as me. They would have been playful too like all children. And they were not excercising at all! A friend wondered how I had the desire to run everyday while he had the desire to eat anything he wanted. Despite this weak encouragement from friends I just run and burnt off that fat with delight.

My son who is now 17 years of age does not have the desire of running but has the desire to be as tall as Mr Dwayne Douglas Johnson-‘Mr Rock’. My son is greatly influenced by the World Wrestling Entertainment championship matches in television. He had been jumping like a kangaroo. Well at least he has the desire to stay tall. I think his DNA is an improved version. My two daughters are still young and my eldest who just turned 16 in fact won a 1st prize in school running competition when she was 13. First participation and won. Her interest in running could have faded. Must be her pressure in school work which is taking a lot of her time. I did not notice anything in my third child and she is only 8 years old.

In one incident, I had forgotten to bring my wallet work. I told my office land rover driver to give me a lift and alight me at the nearby road so that I could run to my house to get my wallet back. No wallet no money. The driver kindly agreed. Once I reached home, I took my belonging from the drawer swiftly and came running back towards where the rover was parked as I did not want to affect my colleague’s plan for the day’s work. My working colleague who was sitting behind the rover back seat looked at me with curiosity. I thought my private problem had somewhat irritated him slightly,

Surprisingly, he told me that ‘you ran all the way to your home and returned so quickly?’I replied, “yeah”. He said “you are a fast runner and you are not panting at all, very fit huh’. That was it. I was so happy to hear this. The first and only encouragement I get from a public and this pushed me to pursue with my passion- running! I kept running.

That was back in 1983 where after a clerical job in a bank for about 6 months, I joined a more ‘manly job’ in the Singapore Land Authority(formerly known as the Land Office) where I had all the the leisure time for my piece of cake – running.

As I had got married in 1988 and changed to a more vibrant job in estate management I found that I could not find time for my passion . In 1995 my passion gradually came to a standstill. When my children came into my life, I did not sharpen my organisation skill to find time to pursue with my passion. The river has stopped flowing. It has frozen and became a glazier.

The year 2001 is a year with a difference. After 11 years of married life. I joined another company in estate management and I was given a project in managing a warehouse building. It was a fantastic project where everything fell into place. I had a good working team. My assistant really took care of the building and this freed me and let me had the time to divert my attention to staying slim. This time I was going high tech.

I joined a fitness centre known as Planet Fitness in 2002 for an annual fee of 900 dollars. But I did not care about the money. All I need is to burnt off my accumulated fats all over me. When I joined my burden was 90 kilogram. When I left the fitness in 2003, a year later my weight has dropped to nearly whopping 20 kilogram! I did not realise this drop in my weight until I took a photograph of me and my son (which I will post this later). It was an amazing feeling.

My profile of my body features has changed drastically. I could not believe myself. I was ineffably happy.I am not saying that the fitness centre improved my weight problem but I did 3 things for the fantastic improvement to my physique. The 3 factors are De – Exercise,Never Over Eat and Adore Thyself. The DNA for fitter and happy life.

De – Exercise

The word ‘de’ means ‘do or make the opposite of ’. For example the word centralise means to cluster together or concentrate in one place. To ‘de centralise’ means to do the opposite that is ‘to disperse’. Another example will be the word ‘regulate’ which means ‘to rule’ or ‘to control’. To ‘de regulate’ means the opposite which means ‘to remove such control’. I can go on with other examples but it comes to the same point I am making.

I use this new word ‘de exercise’ which means to do the opposite of exercise. To not to exercise. But in reality we are actually exercising every moment even while we are sitting down without doing anything. To understand my proposition we need to fly to outer space.

In outer space, there is microgravity or zero gravity- weightlessness.Which means , what goes up comes down quite late or in fact very late. When the heart pumps blood to the head, micro gravity slows it when it downstreams. The blood returning back from top down slows down. As a result there is decreased production of red blood cells which leads to poor nourishment to all parts of body. Likely problem is bone and muscle loss. That is why space travellers do heavy resistant exercise to stay healthy.

In other words, while on earth a slight movement of your cells means your body is ‘execising’ as long your heart is good and pumping blood to the rest of your body. So when you ‘de exercise’ your are actually taking care of your heart by not doing anything. But you are exercising!

In actual life, you are doing something everyday. You are living. While I am typing at this moment means I am doing some form of exercise. If I feel thirsty and wanted toget a cup of water, I am doing ‘walking exercise’ to get the water. Drinking is an exercise. Stretch your arms if you feel tired and you are exercising! All these are done unconsciously. But still you are exercising. Living is actually an exercise. Thanks to gravity. Just hold on, I am going down to the shop to get my news paper. Exercise again!

A 10 kilogram of extra weight is the equivalent of a whopping 320,000 kilojoules- but spread over a year, that works out to a mere 875 kj per day. Take a brisk 13-minutes walk with your pet dog or a good friend and you will lose 420 kj. Indulge yourself with a 20-minutes shopping spree and 470 kj will be lost.Play hide and seek with your children in your garden for 15 minutes and you can lose 485 kj

All the writings in italic, most of the readers will know by now as we are being well informed. But what need to be understood, if you are living, be rest assured that your are indeed exercising. You do not have to do a heavy workout in the gymnasium or do serious aerobics provided you follow all my DNA constantly and concurrently for 365 days. I bet you that your ugly fats will fade away from your beautiful body.

But not to unwind your conditioned mind, let me introduce an equipment which I think can deliver exceptional results. This one is actually shown in television ad and it works wonders. It is called ‘ab slide’. I am not an advertiser for this product but it is easy to use. It is cheap. Try 10 stretches per day and increase by the day.

Stand infront of your mirror naked and ask yourself am I overweight? The profile will tell you the truth. If it is ‘yes’ then follow my step 1 that is to ‘de-exercise’. I am not asking you to exercise. I need you to put in your mind that the very fact you are standing infront of that mirror, you are exercising. By ‘de-exercising’ and avoiding heavy workout you are actually doing a favour to your already ‘hardworking’ heart. By ‘de-exercising’ unneccessary hunger can be prevented. Are you hungry? Don’t go to MacDonalds. Read DNA for slender body step 2- Never Over Eat.

You might be wondering what I did in the fitness. I go around a circuit training using only one plate of weight or zero weight in every weight guided machine and only doing 5 workout in each machine. For example I just did 5 crunches for my tummy. I did go on like this twice in a week 365 days to be exact. But I ‘never over eat’ for 365 days.

Never Over Eat

Only Angels never eat. All human beings and living creatures eat. This natural stimuli from the brain telling us to put in food into your mouth to fill up your stomach. Most of the time I see it is not necessary for your body. It has so much fat in it as evidenced by the inflated image where the body can use its fat to burn as energy.

Remember, whatever your brain tells you to do is not necessarily the truth. Control it . If not you will be a slave to your brain for the rest of your lives. If you do not take a stand to fight it, even if you spend thousands of dollars working out in an expensive gymnasium or seeing a professional phisiology it will not work for you. Compete with your brain, fight it now! Fight it by food knowledge.

In a battle field even a best gladiator will lose if he has no weapons. Absence of knowledge about the energy contained in any food means absence of weapons to fight the brain’s persuasion to eat. Feed your soul with the food knowledge : the kilojoules of the food you eat. I do not want to write down all those things here to prevent duplication of information.

Kilojoules information in food is essential for weight watchers. If you take a slow walk for 20 minutes an average of 450 kj will be lost from your body. If you are in an optimum weight then you will be reading this to maintain your body. But if your are obese, then you have to seriously watch that kilojoules intake! The equation for slimmer life is I = O, input equals output. If I is greater than O then your body inflates. Otherwise, it is underweight. I was in the I > O category and I told myself to minimise my intake.

I have an acute sense of observation. Once during lunch hour I went to a restaurant to appease my apetite. It was quite empty and I was able to spot immediately a guy sitting apparently waiting for his meal. My eyes readily focused on his overblown tummy. It was so outstanding!!. Like it was going to blow out like a balloon. It was drastically not in proportion to his body. He looked like a ‘d ‘ in side profile. When the order was placed on his table, luckily I did not swoon from shock. A ‘mountain’ full of rice was on his plate. I immediately got the answer to my enquiry. His tummy was overblown due to his incessant filling up of rice into his body!!!

I walked out of the restaurant and skipped my lunch. I was thinking, how could the body gets inflated by eating rice meal? I began to do reading on food and its nutrients.I will try to post later on the ABC of Nutrients. For now I will just give you a concept which will drastically improve your conscience of eating. If you follow this formula, you will attain a slimmer body. I call it the Food Code – F-Code

F-Code *

(470kj burnt in 20 minutes walking)

23.5 kilojoules burnt in a minute

(Play hide and seek with your children in your garden for 15 minutes and you can lose 485 kj)

· 32.3 kilojoules burnt in a minute

(Take a brisk 13-minutes walk with your pet dog or a good friend and you will lose 420 kj)

· 32.3 kilojoules burnt in a minute

Therefore my F- Code shall be as follows:

If you do any of those things above for 16 to 18 minutes, you can shed 458 kj. That’s simple! Now I give you the gist of the matter. What specific food you should avoid?

Food is a fuel to your energy. It becomes fat if it is not used. Input must be equal to output. One such fuel is carbohydrates. I reduce my weight from 90 kg to 70 kg in a period of 365 days with a workout of 15 to 20 minutes - a simple routine movements of the machine. In most of the machines I did not put a single weight on it. I will give one secret with this. I forgo rice in my daily meals totally for those 365 days. I only survived on a simple bread meal 3 times a day. My wife is the witness.

Avoiding food containing drastic amount of carbohydrates will be helpful in shedding the extra pounds of flesh all around you. Carbohydrates will be changed into glucose in the body for energy. Extra glucose is stored as gycogen in muscle cells. If not used it becomes fat. The theory of ‘de-exercise’ works good if food containing carbohydrates are taken with minimal intake. If this is done then you will have maximum results.

The amount of thyroxine in the body also a factor in burning the fats. Thyroxine is produced when iodine is converted in the thyroid glands. It is a known scientific fact that the absence of iodine leads to goitre. Swelling of the thyroid glands. Thyroxine will increase your metabolism rate. The higher the metabolism rate the higher the rate energy is burnt in the body. So next time you see a table salt on the table – do not ignore it.

Adore Thyself

There are two things you need to do to stay happy and fitter. You have to appreciate physiology and psychology. You move about with your physical features to stay slimmer and feel ‘healthy’ by using your mind. If you have a beautiful body and do not have a beautiful mind it is no use. ‘Disease’ of the mind is an equal disaster to human living as the disease in the body.

The basic needs of a human being is food(f) clothing( c ) and shelter (s). One fine day after waking up and realise that the whole world has thrown out this fcs when man felt that he does need food as he is being genetically tuned not to feel hungry. Genetically tuned not to feel shy of nakedness, and his body will not be affected by the climate that surrounds him do you think all his needs are extinguished? There is one more remain that will be there with him. That is the feeling of being acknowledged or welcomed by his fellow human beings. When the first man was created, God has brought him in front of the Angels for that piece of ‘welcoming party’. Be welcomed.

Acknowledgment of ‘self’ precedes acknowledgment by others. I use the word adore for acknowledgement as adore is a better word. To adore your ‘self’ means to regard with or feel utmost esteem, love, and respect; honor for your ‘self ’

If you begin to love and respect your ‘self’ your interpretation of external information will be different. Happiness begin to bloom like a flower when this is done. It will be a major factor for the purpose of happiness. Even if your body rots you will be happy if you adore thy ‘self ‘

A body will not function to the optimum if there is a weak heart. The heart of happiness lies in adoring the ‘self’. I am not going to teach the readers to go to the banyan tree and to do a meditation like Buddha. Neither am I going to persuade them to climb to the highest peak to attain this feeling. If the Angels can be denied of their status for not ‘adoring’ adam what more can happen to us if we fail to know and adore our ‘selves’. Self awareness is one thing but adoring that ‘self’ will totally change your lives for the better. What is the instant way of adoring the ‘self’. Here it is.

Have you ever looked up to the sky for an answer. Do it at night. No I am not asking you to meditate again. Immediately you will gaze the many sparkling stars. So what is so sparkling about you. What are the things that you will find ‘within’ that make you respect, love and honour the ‘self’. Perhaps ask a question to that self ‘what is good about you?’ The self replies ‘well I’m a good writer, analyser, speaker, problem solver, painter, well wisher, lover, energizer and controller of your mind, dreamer, a good spirit, player, listener, teacher, seer of spirit through a body, motivator, pusher when your body becomes weak, holder of a positive mirror to deflect all negativity, ……etc’. Then your reply must be ‘ I love, respect and honour you!’

To get a fitter and happy life is a choice and not by chance. When you take care of the physiology of the body and psychology of the self you can reach even the wildest dreams or goals in life.

Volvo S80: A Threat To Midsize Luxury Cars

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

The midsize luxury segment continues to be a hotbed of fiery competition as different automakers showcase their cream-of-the-crop vehicles. Enthusiasts’ passion for midsize luxury cars have not waned yet. As a fact, passion grows stronger each day as reflected by the escalating sales. To keep the competition hotter, Volvo delivers the Volvo S80 model, which is said to be a viable threat to other midsize luxury cars.

Volvo enters the auto scene with dynamic design language, improved ergonomics, powerful performance and world-class safety. The car is delivered with the aim of attracting the most demanding car aficionados. “The all new S80 is entering an immensely tough sector where the competition is razor-sharp and the customers have very high expectations. We are now challenging the best in the segment with a very special car. It radiates what we call ‘Scandinavian Luxury’, clean and elegant lines and intelligent functionality where every single detail has been designed with the user’s well-being in mind,” said Fredrik Arp, the President and CEO of Volvo Cars.

The Volvo S80’s aura is inviting and intelligent. Volvo’s engineers specially designed it to showcase prestige by combining aesthetics and technology in a whole new light. Volvo’s Scandinavian luxury differs from the traditional luxury in the sense that the latter bases its appeal on being expensive, excluding and elitist. “The new S80 is about evolutionary design. All the shapes and materials represent a continuous development of our design language. On the outside we have given the S80 a more compact, youthful and dynamic stance. Inside we have created an even more inviting atmosphere with refined materials and colors that blend smoothly with smart, user-friendly technology,” noted Volvo Cars’ design director Steve Mattin.

Engine range for the Volvo S80 includes the V8 that generates 315 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque. The engine has 4 catalytic converters and sophisticated electronics. It is one of the cleanest engines in the market these days. The engine range also includes the five-cylinder 2.5 liter turbo with 200 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque; and all-new in-line 3.2 liters that produces 238 horsepower and Nm of torque. The all-new Volvo S80 now includes the new naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine and the in-house developed five-cylinder turbo diesel with 185 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.

The car is the first Volvo model to offer the Cruise Control with Collision Warning and Brake Support. One of the functions of the system is to automatically maintain a chosen distance to the vehicle in front. Another function is to alert the driver by activating the buzzer and warning lights. It also prepares the braking system for the situation so as to make braking more effective and reliable.

With regards ergonomics, the car is elegant and comfy inside out. It uses state-of-the-art amenities and accessories to boost classy ambience. Stylish Volvo floor mats are also used to protect the car from filth, liquids and other foreign elements.

“We are convinced that the all new Volvo S80 will be a very strong contender that will win over many new customers. We expect 70 percent of the average volume of 50,000 cars a year to be purchased by customers who do not drive a Volvo today. The main markets are the USA, Germany, UK, Sweden and China,” concluded Fredrik Arp.

Nuturing Your Relationship

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

You take care of the kids, your job, spend time as a family, but what do you do to take care of your relationship? All too often, couples spend most of their energy on everything BUT each other. Unfortunately, all these distractions can take a toll on the partnership and a type of disconnection results. It is essential for you to make time for one another. Whether it be a few minutes a day to a week alone (without the children!), clearing your schedules to reconnect helps improve your relationship, reduces your stress and keeps your life in balance.

What Can We Do?

There are many activities you can plan together that range from free to very expensive. Money doesn’t necessarily need to determine the activity. Remember, it’s how you spend your time together not how much money you spend. The key is connecting without distractions, so turn off the T.V., send the kids to their friend’s house or to their grandparents (what grandparent doesn’t want to have extra time with their grandchildren?!) and allow your relationship to be a priority.

Free Ideas

*Take a walk around your neighborhood. This is a great way to relax, talk and do something outdoors with one another.
*Play a board game. Customize the rules to make the game more fun for the two of you.
*Cook dinner together. Cooking can be a great way to interact. Share a favorite recipe. Take out your best dishes and a couple of candles. Relish in your meal by candlelight.

Inexpensive Ideas

*Pack a picnic basket and go to the park or the beach. Spend a few hours watching the sunset or peoplewatch.
*If you have bicycles or skates or some other activity that has been moved to the wayside, break it out, dust it off and get going.
*Spend time completing a house project. Some couples find it fun to repaint a room, change door handles or work on the garden.
*Go to a museum or another cultural event.

Moderately Priced Ideas

*Go out for a nice dinner. Choose a favorite restaurant that isn’t too noisy so that you can share quality time without being distracted.
*Take a dance class together. This can be fun and dance lessons usually run anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks. Committing to such a class will provide a consistent, weekly time that is automatically reserved for the two of you.
*Take a massage class together. Again, weekly time is reserved and you can become physically and emotionally connected.

More Expensive Ideas

*Get away for the weekend for the two of you. Even a mini-vacation can provide the two of you a chance to reconnect without the pressures of everyday life.
*Plan a once-in-lifetime-adventure for the day. Some areas in California provide for hot-air balloon rides, wine tastings, and boat rides around the harbor. Let the sense of adventure overtake you!

And the Grand Finale

Take a week-long vacation together. Consider it your 2nd or 3rd honeymoon!

It’s time to take care of yourself and your relationship. You will be happier, your children will be happier and, most importantly, will provide balance within your relationship.

Disney’s Best For Spring Break

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida is 49 square miles. The size of a whole city and inside the World, as it is known, there are unlimited ways to entertain yourself. I have listed the ten most enjoyable attractions at Disney World appropriate for all ages.

1. From EPCOT the winner is Honey I shrunk the Audience. The audience in this attraction appears to have been shrunk down to the size of ants as a giant film shows on the screen. As rodents run past in the movie your chair shakes appropriately. When someone on screen sneezes you will get a light mist in your face. This one has everyone squealing with delight. This is an attraction for all ages.

2. From The Magic Kingdom comes the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger spin. You are enlisted to help Buzz save the Universe.. The way you achieve this is by way of laser cannons that are set in front of you in a futuristic car hurling through space. Your car will spin while you try to hit targets out in the Universe. The effects are achieve with black light and glow in the dark surfaces. Kids get great joy out of making their parents dizzy on this one. Do not miss this one.

3. Disney-MGM Studious Back lot Tour at Disney-MGM is an informative excursion. Guests get to tour through movie sets on a tram. It is fascinating to see what goes on behind the scenes to create special effects and different scenes. At the end you are taken through floods and explosions before being shown how it is done.

4. Disneyquest at Downtown Disney is an often overlooked indoor theme park. This larger than life arcade provides a welcome respite from the broiling Florida sun. It is five stories high of interactive entertainment. On the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction inside Disneyquest you an up to three others are manning a schooner fighting against pirates and sea monsters. One plays the roll of captain steering the vessel while the others are busy launching cannons at the bad guys. Just when you think it is over a giant sea creature tries to board your ship and you must defend once again. This attraction will take your mind off of anything else as you will be preoccupied with your own survival. Fun is the operative word here, for all ages.

5. Also from Disneyquest is the Extraterrestrial Alien Encounter where you can blast and be blasted inside of small spaceship that you fly. Actually you drive it around a floor painted like the milky way. One person steers while the other shoots large rubber cannons from the ship. If you hit an opponent at just the place it will send their ship into a tailspin. All the more fun is if someone else hits your ship’s target spot.

6. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at Magic Kingdom provides a bit of nostalgia for parents and a sense of wonder in the little ones . Seeing Pooh and friends come alive in the Hundred Acre Wood will warm your heart. This one gets busy though so you may want to use a fast pass if the park is packed.

7. The fireworks show is best viewed from Magic Kingdom. Depending on the time of year there are different themes to this one but one thing remains constant Disney doesn’t do anything halfway and this is no exception. One year I saw the Fourth of July fireworks and the explosions were in the shape of stars. The show was visible all the way from the Disney Pop Century hotel which is not right next door. All ages will ooh and gasp over the show.

8. Mickey’s PhilharMagic show is a 3D short movie shown on the largest seamless screen ever built. As per all things Disney it is not just a film. This attraction has the audience watching a scene from Fantasia where Donald Duck puts on Mickey’s magical hat and is catapulted into the audience. You will smell the scents and feel water and a surprising but not painful sting as well have a visual experience like no other. This may be the most entertaining twelve minutes you ever spend in a movie theater. Bring the kiddies but don’t sit back fully in your chair if you want to avoid the sting.

9. At EPCOT the are many national pavilions. The best of all is the Mexico Pavilion. Inside there is a slow boat ride around the Rio el Tiempo Volcano. This is a gentle and peaceful ride that serves to calm overstimulated children and quell the fire of aching feet in adults.

10. Dinosaur at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is not an Aladar ride as I was led to believe. There is a life size Aladar from the kids movie called Dinosaur standing right outside but don’t let that fool you. You and your fellow victims are strapped into large metal jeep like vehicles and taken on a trip back in time to when the great beasts roamed the earth. At the end you find out you have mistakenly transported a dinosaur forward to modern times. It is more transfixing that frightening unless like myself you are worried you may fall out of the car and be electrocuted on the track. My fellow pint sized riders had a rollicking good time while I rode in terror. Take your chances. There is a height restriction on this one of 40 inches.

Beware Of Store Credit Cards

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

There is no question about that retailers offer more discounts with their credit cards when you purchase at the store than with other financial products or even when you pay in cash. However, what is the cost concealed within these offers? The store must be getting something out of it; otherwise they wouldn’t do it. But what is it?

Customer Fidelity
What stores get in exchange from these offers is customer fidelity. They make sure that you’ll keep buying at their store. Thus, they are guaranteeing an income from which they’ll benefit in terms of interests.

Customer fidelity is a very important thing for companies. Most companies spend a lot of money to secure customer fidelity. But in this case, the one paying for it is the same customer that they want to turn into a regular company’s customer.

Interest Rate Charged For Financing
Another thing they get, that may sound as the most important one but not always is, is the return for financing your purchases. When you purchase goods and don’t pay the whole balance at the end of the period, you are financing your purchase and they will charge an interest rate for the unpaid balance.

All credit cards charge an interest rate for this service with the sole exception of certain promotions that charge a 0% interest rate for financing but only for a limited period of time. However, the interest rate charged by store credit cards is significantly higher than the rate charged by most regular credit cards. Thus, though you might get that 10% discount on the retail price, you may end up overpaying due to the high interest rates that are charged for financing.

Sharing Your Data For Revenue
Also, most stores share your personal information with other companies so these companies can send you offers and promotions according to your needs and buying behavior. Of course, they don’t do this out of the goodness of their hearts. They actually charge a fair amount of money for providing their databases that are packed with very interesting details about you and your buying habits.

If you are concerned about your privacy, you should always read the contract thoroughly before signing cause you may be giving written authorization to disclose this information and you may not be noticing it.

This is a common practice among stores. Those stores that can obtain a fair amount of data about their customers usually sell this information to other companies and that’s the reason why people get offers in their mails with attractive content and they don’t know where did these companies got their contact information.

As you can see, before jumping in to accepting that store card that they are offering you, you should consider all these variables and analyze whether it is really to your advantage.
