Discover The Beauty Of La Villajoyosa

Monday, January 31st, 2005

Situated on the original N332 between Alicante (32 kilometres) and Benidorm (5 kilometres), is a beautiful but diverse coastal town, with a population of about 23,500. It is a mixture of both old and new constructed areas, with in its centre you find the old part of town, with its narrow cobbled streets, a pastel shaded painted houses, old castle walls and flower bedecked cottages which overlook the Rio Amadorio and sea.

This is a quaint and relatively quite area of town, rarely visited by tourists, despite its charm and age old history, which is evident all around you.

On the flip side of the town, you have the new hotels, (still more apparently to be built) a new and fantastic sandy beach and currently in construction, Villajoyosa sea front and promenade. The sea front is due to be completed spring 2007, at the cost of several million euros, which, with the overall makeover of a lot of its original architecture makes this a great place to explore.

The charm of this coastal town is in its true diversity, with its originality shown by year long sight of its village women sitting outside their homes, knitting and crochet needles clicking away, the men folk fishing, boatbuilding (the traditional way) and the repairing and making of fishing nets.

The modern side of Villajoyosa is shown when visiting its famous chocolate factories and museums, the go kart racing track (on the eastern end of town), or just relaxing on the beautiful golden man made beach, and when the sun goes down, visit the fabulous casino with its mouth watering cuisine, musical entertainment and floor shows and of course, if you want to , have a little flutter.

THE BEST FIESTA (not to be missed) is the MOROS AND CHRISTIANOS (Moors and Christians) from July 24th to 31st, This is reportedly the best re-enactment of this historic event, and the best organised, with stunning laser light show and superb floodlighting to highlight the landing of the moors which took/takes place just before dawn breaks with the ensuing battle on the beach.

WHAT TO SEE

The old town and church areas, the chocolate museums and factories, the fishing port to watch the days catch arrive and the casino at night. Or just relax on the beach.

WHERE TO EAT OR DRINK

There are numerous restaurants along the sea front which serve every kind of cuisine your heart desires, be it Spanish, Italian, English, German or French, so maybe go on a gastronomic cruise, whilst staying in one place. There are also numerous chocolate café/bars for the chocoholics amongst us, where you feel that you have died and gone to heaven.

Gua’s Attribute in Feng Shui

Monday, January 31st, 2005

In Feng Shui applications, individual gua’s attribute is often overlooked and some of us might not know what is the attributes of the guas as these are often the basic knowledge of metaphysics. By understanding this, one’s knowledge in the application of Feng Shui can be raised to a new level.

Gua (Location): Attributes

Qian (NortWest): Strong / Firm / Progress

Dui (West): Happy / Talk

Li (South): Beautiful

Zhen (East): Move / Vibration

Xun (SouthEast): Enter / Go Into / Move

Kan (North): Sink / Downwards

Gen (NorthEast): Stop

Kun (SouthWest): Smooth / Tame / Hide

The table above only lists some of the more commonly known attributes of the guas.

How do we apply these attributes in our Feng Shui applications? For example, in a retail shop placing items or products in the NorthEast and SouthWest sector of the shop will not be ideal as they have a common attribute which is “Stop” or “Stagnant”. Hence, the products place that these locations will often sell at a slower speed than the others. Products in the East and SouthEast will often sell faster since the sectors have the common attrinute of “Move”. In the event there is a promotion to be held in the shop, the promotion products will be ideally placed in these 2 sectors of the shop to achieve the better sales.

When one understands these attributes in relation to the guas, one can apply this knowledge into any parts of our daily lives, not just the business area. Through correct application, the resulting effect is often surprisingly beneficial.

Blog Archives and SEO

Monday, January 31st, 2005

When most people visit your site, the most articles that they will see is anywhere from three to fifteen depending on the length of them and whether or not you have linked them “behind the fold.” Behind the Fold means that they are stuffed in your archives. Of course, this begs the question – are these search engine optimized blogs lost forever in the archives or are they still accessible to search engines.

The good news that even though your blog posts from the past are not displayed on the blog page but this does not mean that they are not accessible to the search engines or your readers. Most blog software and online providers supply some kind of archiving system so that readers can easily search your blog for other articles. In fact a little box that allows your readers to search a blog is a good plug in to look for when you are choosing a provider.

Sometimes the archives are listed in a separate list on another page by date or subject. On other templates, there may be a list of general categories scrolling down one side of your blog that people can click on to read other subjects. Another possibility is that a calendar object may be put on the page so that people can look up the blogs in the archive by date. Another technique is to keep all of your category headings for your blogs as keyworded titles and to maintain a lot of them. The more categories you have describing your blog archives the more keywords you will have available to the search engines.

Even though these posts are not archived on your front page they are still searchable through the search engines. The more articles you have in your archives the more visible your site is likely to be in the search engines.

Snoring - The Problem and How To Stop Snoring

Monday, January 31st, 2005

Snoring, a condition as old as man himself and even a condition found outside of humans.

Snoring is usually distressful to the snorer’s sleep partner, and the snorer can look forward to being awaken rudely (by a various number of devices, from whistling, jabbing, shaking and so on), and being nervous thereafter.

Snoring is not so simple a problem, and may be a sign that someone is very wrong with the snorer, and he or she needs medical attention.

Snoring may be a sign of sleep apnea (a secession of breathing during sleep for short periods), which is turn can cause, or be caused by high blood pressure, and other ailments.

The fact the snoring can interfere with your night’s sleep can mean you are in a poor mood the following day, your concentration becomes faulty, you can be irritable, and even effect your immune system.

Negative Effects of Simple Snoring

Baring more severe problems, simple snoring can ruin your personal life, your professional life, and even you sex life.

The fact is, snoring also wakes up the snorer and he or she is always tired the next day. What can be done then?

First Step to Stop Snoring

The very first step you should make is to see your doctor. The doctor can discover if your snoring is a simple problem (perhaps you were over-tired, and over-stressed), or something more serious, like sleep apnea.

You doctor will also be able to prescribe some medicines that may help you, or give you the answers you need to know.

You may wish to know, what causes this noise.

Your doctor can show you that in some way, your sleep breathing is being obstructed, and the air flowing in or out will cause some structure in your throat to vibrate.

This is usually your uvula. The uvula is the finger shaped appendage at the read of your mouth, just before the esophagus.

The vibration may be also caused by the tongue, or even muscles in the throat.

Your doctor can discover the cause, as your disturbed sleep, or that of your sleeping partner, and understand if you have sleep apnea.

This condition can lead to brain damage if not attended to, and will have a very negative effect on your personal and professional lives.

If you do have sleep apnea, you doctor may prescribe a special breathing machine that helps you breathe at night as you sleep. Sometimes the doctor will recommend removal of the uvula, or other surgical procedures.

For your own safety, see a doctor if you are a persistent snorer. If you are not a persistent one, you can buy some sprays or herbs that can allay the snoring process.

Simple Remedies for Snoring

• Do not sleep on your back, but prefer the side.

• Use more than one pillow to keep your head elevated.

• Buy some aromatic herbs and place them under your pillow as you sleep.

• Lose some weight if you are overweight.

• Buy some of the nostril stretching devices to allow for more air enter your lungs and leave by way of the nose rather than the mouth during sleep.

In any event, always see your doctor if the problem of snoring is persistent and causing distress.

The Insurance Industry

Monday, January 31st, 2005

When I see, or hear, of something I perceive as wrong, I write about it. Recently, very recently, a good friend of mine who lives in Pensacola had to go to an emergency room. This person usually feels whatever is wrong with her, she can fix and to go to an emergency room means something must be seriously wrong.

She arrived at the Emergency Room of a local hospital at 9:30 a.m. and was finally seen by a doctor at 4:30. After less than a five minute examination the doctor informed her there was a rupture of her old incisions, a severe hernia, a mass behind it and swollen lymph nodes. He then informed her the hospital was not a free clinic and he only had to stabilize her, not treat her. He gave her a prescription for antibiotics and left.

Apparently all hospitals in the Pensacola area are now owned by private companies and unless you have insurance you will not be treated at any of them. This was told to my friend by the nurse that was assisting the doctor. The one free clinic in the Pensacola area is overwhelmed by illegal aliens, minorities and drug addicts. People wait there for up to 10 hours to finally see a doctor.

Apparently, I was under the wrong impression that hospitals in Florida get subsidies from the government. This subsidy goes with the understanding they will treat all patients who go there no matter if there is insurance coverage or not. I know this is true for the hospitals in my area. I remember there was a case of an illegal alien who was taken to a local hospital and admitted. This person spent several months in the hospital and the bill, which was written off, came to more than a million dollars.

I do not know how many people in this country do not have medical insurance. I know neither I nor my friend have medical insurance because we cannot afford it. I would venture to guess at least 20% of us do not have insurance. What are the 20% supposed to do in an emergency?

I take a friend to the ‘free clinic’ here. There must be at least one thousand people a day that go there. Of the people that line up to see a doctor, 98% cannot speak English, yet they are draped with gold necklaces, bracelets, etc. Even their young children, some no more than babies, are wearing gold jewelry.

When I take my friend to the free clinic, I wait around until he is ready to leave. I usually speak to everyone waiting outside. The majority of African-Americans I speak with are just as disgusted as I am. They, too, had to give up medical insurance because they can no longer afford it. They are forced to go to the free clinic. They have paid taxes, lived by the laws and lead productive lives. Then they see literally hundreds of illegal aliens, who have not contributed to society or paid taxes, line up for everything from free food stamps, free medical, free dental, etc.

What is wrong with this picture? Natural born citizens cannot get medical treatment yet illegal aliens can get everything for free? Since when are natural born Americans considered second class citizens? If 10 percent of the population (according to figures I recently heard) are illegal aliens, this means we have thirty million illegal aliens in this country draining our resources. The only thing they are giving back to this country is shopping at Wal-Mart. They undercut salaries of Americans by working cheap.

The companies they work for do not have to pay social security or any taxes for them. The companies they work for do not have to declare monies earned by showing wages paid. Therefore, more profit is made. This situation would not have occurred if the government had not allowed insurance companies to charge exorbitant rates. I understand insurance became mandatory to protect workers, but if workers are illegal aliens they are not covered because they do not appear in the records submitted to insurance companies.

There are certain industries that have to pay up to one-third of gross payroll for insurance. The only way these companies can survive is to hire unskilled illegal aliens, who are not on the books, or by going out of continental United States to produce products.

There recently was an outbreak of e-coli which came from spinach grown in California. The outbreak was traced back to fecal matter in the water used to grow the spinach. There was fecal matter all right. The illegal aliens deliberately dumped the port-o-lets and all the waste in them, into the water used to grow the plants. It was their way of saying we need illegal aliens and they can contaminate our food source any time they wished. I am saying this as a psychic because I saw what they did.

Would this not be considered an act of terrorism? Has it been ignored because politicians want the Spanish vote? Thirty million illegal aliens cannot vote or have the politicians forgotten that little fact.

The citizens of this country are disgusted with the way things have been run for the past several years. They are very tired of the good ole boys of politics ignoring what the people want or need. This is shown by the recent elections. There are vast changes that have to be made in this country. Medical insurance for its citizens is one and an illegal alien problem is another.

I heard about a woman who is living with an illegal alien and has been for several years. Every time his brother (also illegally here) wants to go home to see the rest of his family he allows himself to be caught by Immigration. Then they send him home for free. After visiting his relatives he comes back to his life here. He has been sent home four times so far. As far as he is concerned, the American government gives him free trips home.

Home owners’ insurance is mandatory if someone has a mortgage on their home. The companies that sold home owners insurance made more than a billion dollars in profit, and then almost all of them cancelled selling home owners’ insurance in Florida. Now, the companies that do sell home owners’ insurance have tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the rates charged. As an example, if a person paid twenty-five hundred dollars for homeowners insurance last year, they now pay ten thousand dollars for less insurance. Flood insurance is now separate and, if one is lucky, only two ½ % of the assessed value of a home is the deductible. Some people have 5% of the assessed value as the deductible. Because so many people come to Florida, our assessed values are higher than most other states. As an example, a home that might sell for $250,000 in this county, could be purchased for $25,000 in other states.

I could go on citing other examples, but I have written enough. The bottom line is we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. We are entitled to have our medical needs covered. We are entitled to be able to work and support our families. We should not have to decide between buying food and paying for insurance, whether it is medical or home owners’ insurance. It is time we told Big Brother the government works for the citizens, not corporations.

Chinese New Year Parties-Some Useful Tips

Monday, January 31st, 2005

For 2007, the 15 day celebrations will begin on February 18th. 2007 is the year of the Pig (boar) which is also known as Ding Hai.

The Chinese calendar is based on a combination of lunar and solar movements. With a lunar cycle of around 29.5 days the misalignment to the solar cycle is compensated for by adding a month every few years. Within a period of nineteen years, there are months added on seven occasions. This can be considered as being similar to adding days during a leap year.

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are celebrated with family and a banquet, in honour of departed ancestors is held on New Year’s Eve. It is a belief that the spirits of departed relatives will attend the living in-order to celebrate the New Year’s arrival together. The feast has the name ‘weilu’ or ’surrounding the stove’.

In advance of the New Year Chinese tradition is to complete all unfinished business from the previous year. Homes are completely cleaned and the principles of fung shei are applied to ensure that there is room for good energy and good luck top enter the home. On the stroke of midnight as the years change, all doors and windows are opened to let the old year depart. New Year’s eve is traditionally celebrated by the letting off of firecrackers as a welcome to the New Year.

A Chinese family home would be decorated with vases of pretty flowers to symbolize the reawakening of nature and you would also expect to see oranges and tangerines (symbolizing happiness) and a tray of candy. If you visit a Chinese family during the celebrations it would be expected that you would bring a bag of tangerines or oranges. If they have leaves attached this will assure that the relationship will remain secure.

The tray of candy has great importance and consists of eight different types. Each type symbolises good fortune of a different type. Traditionally you would find; lotus seeds, longan, peanuts, coconut, cumquat, lychee, red melon seeds and candied melon. The arrangement overall is called ‘the tray of togetherness’

Other decorations around a Chinese family home would include wall decorations which typically would be good wishes for the New Year. The common theme would be that they would be on red paper. Red is a happy colour and one that will bring good fortune and consequently it is used extensively in decoration and clothing. Superstition dictates that the appearance and attitude of a person on New Year’s Day will impact them throughout the new year, hence the choice of a happy and bright colour.

These themes should be integrated into your own Chinese New Year’s party. Your home should be clean and anything no longer used or valued should be discarded. If your party is on New Year’s Eve, don’t forget firecrackers and to throw your windows and doors open at midnight. Decorate using a red, red/gold theme.

The Most Popular Supplements for Losing Weight Naturally

Monday, January 31st, 2005

There are a ton of weight loss products on the market. In fact, over a billion dollars was made last year selling these types of products. With all the available options, it’s hard to figure out which one is best for you. Here are some of the most popular natural weight loss supplements on the market today.

Hoodia

Hoodia gordonii, also known as the cactus diet, is a powerful appetite suppressant. It comes from a cactus in South Africa that has been used by native Bushmen for generations. It’s currently available in pill, liquid, or tea form. If you decide to take hoodia, remember to drink a lot of fluids; it’s a thirst suppressant to.

Green tea

This has become a popular item for weight loss in the last few years. It works by speeding up your metabolism so you burn calories and fat faster. Some people also claim that green tea can aid in lowering cholesterol. Green tea contains caffeine, so you should cut back on your other caffeine sources if you’re taking it.

Chitosan

While many diet pills work to suppress your appetite or boost your metabolism, chitosan is used to prevent your body from absorbing fats. The unwanted fat simply passes throughout your system instead of ending up at your waist line. While many people have lost weight with chitosan, it can also cause problems in the digestive tract.

One thing you must remember is that if a weight loss supplement works, that doesn’t mean it’s safe. Many people think that because something is natural, it’s not dangerous. Not only do many supplements have dangerous side effects (think Phentermine and Ephedra); they are usually not rigorously tested so their negative effects are not well documented. It’s always a good idea to check with your doctor before taking any supplement.

While a weight loss pill may be effective, remember that they should be used in conjunction with diet and exercise, not as a replacement. If you do, your diet may just get that extra boost it needs to finally take off excess pounds.

A Special 50th Anniversary Gift - A Complete Review

Monday, January 31st, 2005

A few months ago, I opened my mailbox and sighed. I had just received an invitation to my best friend’s parents’ 50th wedding anniversary party. It’s been nearly 30 years since I have known my best friend and her family, so I am pretty close to all of them. I simply cannot miss out on this special occasion, however, the thought of shopping for a 50th anniversary gift didn’t thrill me either. I am not a fan of shopping for presents like that. I know that I simply cannot get them a generic present, as this is a very special occasion. Even though I was clueless as to what would be an appropriate 50th anniversary gift for such a wonderful couple, I had sent my RSVP to them.

The next day, I hit the mall in search of something special as well as unique. Unfortunately I came up with nothing really exceptional other than the usual picture frames and candles. I mean, can someone enlighten me as to what to get as a 50th anniversary gift for a couple who practically has everything? For sure, I didn’t want to just buy then a gift that you can buy for anyone at anytime. I wanted something meaningful and special, now that’s easier said than done. After some advice from co-workers, I stumbled upon a website that just thrilled me. The site www.seniorstore.com had an enormous selection of ideas that cater to 50th anniversary gifts or any occasion presents for seniors.

In fact there were some really unique presents that I put some serious thought into. The gifts that I found interesting were books from the year of their marriage, photo albums, beautiful poems and even a gift basket with a collection of items from the year of their marriage. I personally felt that the personalized basket was such a wonderful idea. It had some wonderful memorabilia in it and for only $100; it was the perfect 50th anniversary gift! I was extremely happy for having found it.

I had lots of fun at the party, and it was a very emotional one too. The couple got some wonderful gifts, but I was extremely pleased when their eyes lit up upon opening my gift basket. I was certain that the gifts inside the basket would bring back some beautiful past memories and perhaps create some new ones as well. My best friend also told me that she had a real tough time trying to figure out a special 50th anniversary gift for them, and was envious of the present I’d bought. I did tell her about the site where I had purchased the gift from, as well as the other gift ideas that I’d gotten from looking over their offerings. With a bit of creativity, not only can you find the perfect 50th anniversary gift, but you can also create some presents that will be appreciated for any occasion. I know for sure where I’ll be purchasing a 50th anniversary gift for my parents as they still have a couple more years before their milestone!

Raising Up Servants Among You

Monday, January 31st, 2005

As I troll through the Internet, doing research for an upcoming article, I became aware of the many articles written about leadership. Seems the Saints are quite concerned over WHO the leaders of this “movement” should be or, at the very least, who will lead their House Church. HOW should they be selected and WHAT it is they will actually do? Many who are attempting to “think outside the edifice” have only tasted of Institutional-style leadership and, well…we become what we surround ourselves with. When it’s all we know, it’s all we do. Reminds me of the elders of Israel in 1 Samuel Chapter 8. They had direct access to God Himself through Samuel the prophet but wanted a king like all the other nations had. God gave in but warned them of what to expect. It was a disaster. Such is the Adamic nature of man: somebody tell me what to do!

I’m resisting the urge to say anything further regarding leadership a la Ephesians 4:11. That dead horse has been beaten into glue sticks by better writers and theologians than I within the House Church camps. The two extreme schools of thought range from doing what we’ve always tried to do in traditional settings to a complete absence of any leadership but the Holy Spirit.

And everything in between.

What’s burdening my heart as I scanned the many articles and titles I read was that the focus was so much upon the subject of leadership tainted by what we’ve known and experienced, NOT leadership as Jesus portrayed it - the One who said that He came as an example.

If I asked the question, “Who is the King of this Kingdom?” the vast majority of would say, “Jesus!” Good answer. We often forget that His Kingdom is an upside down Kingdom where the last are first, the weak are strong, the rich are poor, the dead are alive, one must lose oneself to find oneself, and where godly foolishness confounds the wisest among us. We forget that, rather than functioning as some sort of political leader or gangster kingpin, Jesus washed the feet of His followers and laid His life down for them. Compare that to the leaders of an Islamic terrorist group, encouraging his followers to lay down their lives as martyrs and strapping a bomb to their chests while he builds his diabolical empire.

Having counseled many a struggling married couple, far too often have I heard men declare how “unsubmissive” their wives were, while he sits in his leather reclining throne with remote control scepter in hand, barking out brief commands for all his subjects to obey: “Sit down!” “Be quiet!” “Go to sleep!” “Where’s my supper?”

On the other hand, Jesus exemplified what a REAL godly leader was like. He accepted children, calling them forward and blessing them. He honored women. He forgave the seemingly unforgivable. He loved the seemingly unlovable. He accepted those who had been rejected by everyone else. He showed future leaders how to be prophets, priests and kings. A Prophet hears from God and blesses the people. A Priest offers up prayers to Heaven on their behalf. And a King - a King along the family line of Jesus - serves His people. I’ve heard the word “meekness” defined as “Power under control.” King Solomon comes to mind. Remember? The Queen of Sheba marveled at the fine robes his subjects wore, how well the king fed them, what an incredible King he was; a type of Christ, I’d say.

In Acts 3:22-26 (NKJV), we read: For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days. You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”

The phrase “my servant” and “thy servant” are used quite allot in Scripture. I couldn’t help but notice an interview yesterday with the Indianapolis Colts head coach, Tony Dungee. He is about to play in the Super Bowl against a protégée of his, Coach Lovie Smith of the Chicago Bears. Dungee caught my attention when he was asked why he hired Smith years ago as one of his assistants. He said something like, “I knew he was knowledgeable of the game of football…I wanted someone who could teach.” He humbly referred to Smith as ” a man with Christian values, like myself.” Incidentally, he went on to say how similar Smith’s coaching style is to his own and how, in Chicago’s camp, just as in his own team’s camp, you won’t hear coaches cussing but you will hear lots of teaching going on. I like that. After all, what is a “coach” but a vehicle for transporting important people? These young men who play football are more than mere athletes; they’re fathers, husbands, citizens. In a land that’s lacking role models, how refreshing it is to know some “servants” take their job seriously.

Question: So, who are YOU coaching? As I often say, every one of us needs a Paul, a Barnabas and a Timothy in our lives: One to learn from, one to learn with and one to whom we can teach what we’ve learned. Water that’s not ebbing and flowing becomes a stagnant pool. If you are in a position of influence in the life of ANY other person - even at work or in your own home - serve them. Coach them. They may see you as their leader; so be it.

We serve God by serving others…whether we’re given a title or not.

Sacred Marriage

Monday, January 31st, 2005

People often think of relationship in terms of “convenience,” but what could be more inconvenient than having every fiber in your body touched by the timeless gifts of passion and love? Passion is not only one of the greatest gifts of life, but one of the strongest bonds of a relationship. In the early stages of a relationship, we experience attraction and infatuation. The passion born out of those stages can be intoxicating. As Rumi said, “If infatuation is madness, then I want to be crazy.”

In my book, The Path to Love, I invite you to make a soul bargain with love in order to align yourself with love. Far more than an emotion, love is a real force. And if Love is attuned to who you are, love will respond. At the Chopra Center, we begin each day with meditation. Prior to meditating we ask people to still themselves, then gently and innocently ask the question: “What do I want?” As they answer this question, they place their intentions into their subconscious mind and soul. We ask ourselves this question in a romantic context, an emotional context, or a physical context, and embed these intentions like seeds in the fertile soil of the subconscious.

We can each achieve ecstasy within our relationships when we intuitively and innocently understand that we are all the same; we are simply wearing different disguises. The more we are willing to step into a universal consciousness with our partner, the more we can shift our attention from the “I/ME” to the “US/WE.”

As a relationship unfolds from a point of oneness, the bounds of the ego, as well as possessiveness and fear, are replaced by selfless love, appreciation, and grace. Layers of our disguise naturally slip away and all we are left with is one soul consciousness communicating with another, acknowledging the sanctity of their oneness.

A question that is often overlooked when there seems to be discontent or stress in a relationship is, “What actually just happened?” So often, we find ourselves unable to solve or evolve in our current situation because we are steeped in blame, accusation, and defense of our position. Asking ourselves just what happened in a conversation or interaction allows us to look at a situation clearly and objectively, so as to pierce the drama and baggage that often accompanies miscommunication

Ninety-five percent of the problems in relationships exist because of lapses in communication.
